It was a mix of yoga, Pilates and strength and the class was full. It had a little community vibe that creates a sense of belief and motivation. There was a mix of women and men of all ages trying to improve their health, mobility and inner self love. Dale and I were up at 4.30 this morning (argh) with Sonny 🀭 Although we were so much more productive fitting in a workout, catching up with washing and getting out and about earlier. We are almost in Esperance to bring in the new year. So glad we have a shorter day driving today!! If you are playing netball in the 2019 season now is the time to start building up your endurance and strength. The endurance will allow you to run out a game and the strength with build on your speed and vertical jump. As we started preseason training last Thursday with a short run I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you some of my training in the lead up to next years season. I am going to create a small pre-season training plan focusing on endurance. I was jogging at a slow pace then just before each statue I would go full pace. I love coffee!!! Sometimes I know I drink wayyyy too much. Did you know that coffee β˜•οΈ is a stimulant that causes the body to produce adrenaline {stress release hormone}. If you are drinking coffee throughout the day your body is going to keep on producing adrenaline and think it is in a flight or fight mode. When we are stressed we release glucose into the blood for energy. When we release glucose our body is going to use this as fuel {means no fat burning} and we release insulin to bring levels back down to normal. Also when you are producing insulin your body won’t use fat store as fuel. Stress causes the body to shut down and stop functioning how it should. So if you are drinking coffee ALL day and find you are consistently feeling stressed or not seeing the results you are looking for with your training try keeping it to 1 cup in the morning preferably around training and don’t have any after lunchtime. This week I had one of my lovely clients say to me that it's just not getting any easier and that she feels it is all too hard. I had to remind her that it should NEVER get any easier and that we need to keep on challenging our body in different ways to help maintain strength and see any improvement.
