Each week at our holistic nature play gatherings children are encouraged to wash hands, cut, peel, juice, share and taste. My goal is to nourish senses, create independence and provide healthy choices for children to enjoy.
I believe that giving young children the time and opportunity to prepare their own morning tea has been extremely empowering and rewarding for all.
Over the past few months I have viewed the following. • Communication & language skills flourish
• Maths and fine motor development expand • Independence and vocabulary grow & develop It really is so exciting to watch!
This time has been specifically carved out each week as an opportunity for children and mama’s to nourish, breathe & connect 🌿💚

Food prep for this week was...
A Slow-cooked Moroccan Lamb, Fig & Vegetable Tagine served with purple cabbage and fresh pomegranate 😋

1 tbsp minced ginger
4 cloves of garlic
1 tsp paprika, cumin, coriander,
1 sprig of rosemary (or tsp dried)
1 leg of lamb
800ml of chopped tomatoes
2 cubes of stock
Choice of chopped vegetables
Handful of dried fruit
1) In a pan caramelise some chopped shallots, minced ginger and garlic.
2) Add in paprika, cumin, rosemary, ground coriander and fry till fragrant.
3) Brown the meat and add to the slow cooker.
4) Add in your choice of chopped vegetables (I used carrots, aubergine, leeks and cauliflower)
5) Finally add your choice of dried fruit, a can of chopped tomatoes, some stock and season to taste.
Leave to simmer until meat is tender and enjoy 😊 (about 6 hours on high)
(Tip: if you like your veg more aldente they can be added later)

Ripe papaya, frozen banana, frozen coconut chunks from @traderjoes

Add in a bit of cashew milk (or any milk of choice)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon raw honey
Blend all together in a high speed blender, scoop into bowl, and top with shredded coconut, cacao nibs, and pumpkin seeds! A perfect breakfast or snack with a balanced blend of flavors and nutrients 😍👌
