New Body Bandits for sale at Studio 3 Salon in Sonora!
🌵 Rango 🌵
12 yr old red roan gelding
Sale fell through so Rango is back up for sale! One of our personal using horses, Rango is a 12 yr old grade red roan qh gelding, stands 15h, athletic and stout, had 60 days professional training with Jason Lancaster of Pinnacle Stables, been used to sort and push cattle, has tracked the sled on the heel side and breakaway, plenty of trail miles, been extensively hauled and doesn't mind the scene. He does require someone experienced and confident because he's catty and sensitive to his rider so he's not the right fit if you're timid or heavy handed. He's tough and gritty with a good work ethic, will ride fence or stand tied all day, rides in just a smooth snaffle for pasture work or a twisted wire dogbone sweet six for arena work. Excellent ground manners, very easy keeper, nice handle, rides off the leg, picks up from the fence, loads, ties, etc. I've left him in the pasture for months and he's ridden right off without a problem. No buck, bolt or rear to him, he just gets nervous and tense if you tiptoe around him. Prefers men but keep him busy, give him a job and he'll go all day long.

Day 12 & 13: Well long weekend and Hubby’s birthday tomorrow. We have eaten pretty well. We satisfied the kids by going to the Italian restaurant around the corner. Me….what can I eat other than a salad? I find most house salads boring. So….I opted a healthier option, even though not #glutenfree
🤫😢, of a cheese-less pizza filled with veggies. Today I took the kids to a bakery/vegan restaurant closest to our house. We picked out healthier #cupcakes
for my husband’s birthday. We want to celebrate guilt free but that can be hard. I would usually have the kids help made something but it’s almost always horrible. Greatest things this weekend….hubby’s present and my little Arbonne package. So excited to try out this #vitamix
!! We haven’t gone without exercise. Best form of some hard exercise is manual labor. We’ve had this pile of branches for a couple years and have been wanting to shred them. Let’s just say that I felt like I was getting beaten up by the #harrypotter
tree. I have bruises and I got whipped in the face a few times. But there is something satisfying about working your own land.

Today we saddled up Ghost for the first time. He handled the whole thing like a pro and was surprisingly calm while we tightened the cinch and walked him around with the saddle on his back. I shook the saddle a little bit, then put a foot in the stirrup to put a little weight on it and he barely moved; I was so proud of how well he was doing. I went up and did the exact same thing again expecting the same reaction. That was mistake number one. Ghost was like, “yeah okay, I’ll be good. Just kidding.” Then it was rodeo time. He reared up, my boss -who was holding his lead rope- fell backwards and landed in the mud, I jumped off to the side in the nick of time because he tore off around the paddock with a series of bucks and twists that would put a saddle bronc to shame. I was torn between laughing at the crazy circus I call my job, and having a heart attack. Overall, I was mostly proud that I had tightened the cinch so well that the saddle didn’t even budge throughout the whole episode.😂 Now, getting the saddle OFF the crazy horse was a whole nother adventure. #quarterhorse #gelding #ghostface #horserescue #rescuehorse #killpenrescue #cowboyup #ranchlife #horsetraining #saddleup #saddlebronc #crazyhorse #greenhorse
I honestly don't know what I would do without my family.
My husband leaves us for the open road, to keep bringing in money to help pay the bills. As a small business owner, he puts in a lot of hours to keep our business growing. He takes great care of us when he is he is home, and holds our home together.
My mom is always here for me- when the girls are sick, she is always willing to keep them so I can go to work. She gets the girls off the bus, she watches the kids so I can help do ranchwork on the weekend, and just always there when I need her. I would be lost without her.
And my dad- well, every girl always needs her old man. I don't know how many times he has come to my rescue- horse accidents, car whoopsies, house emergencies- he is who I call when I need help when my husband is on the road. I could never say thank you enough.
I am blessed to have a great mother in law, too, who is there for us anytime we need her. My brother and his wife are always willing to help us out if we need it, too.
My family might make me crazy, but I couldn't survive without them.
He sure does love his ladies! 💚
Time to retire these 20 year old chinks which have roped thousands of cattle with patches on patches to show for. Hard to give up quality clothing and gear but it’s better to wear out a pair of chinks than a pair of legs.

I haven’t posted in so long 🙃 enjoy this semi - artsy picture of a gate #artsy #ranchlife
2 of 3 trees down on the fence after that nasty storm. Got most of them but this bull pine. We had other fence along the river completely washed away. First things first. Bull pine will be another day this week with some help. All in a days work. #ranchlife

“The [horsemanship] path isn’t a straight line... it’s a spiral: you continually come back to things you thought you understood, and see deeper truths.” ~unknown. I’ve been putting off putting a first ride onto this mustang for a while now because I knew there was something fundamentally missing in her education but I didn’t know quite what or how to fix it. It’s funny how you can get information several times throughout your life, but until you’re in a place where you’re ready for it, it has no meaning (you’re listening but not hearing, or watching but not seeing). Not too long ago I was finally in that place with some stuff I’ve seen Ray Hunt do, but never took in. Well, I finally really saw it and today this little filly was able to do some basic balance stuff really well... not so worried about our first ride now. 😊#mustang #blmmustang #horsesofinstagram #horsemanship #cowgirlstyle #horse #ranch #ranchlife #cowgirl
