Join us in helping the California Fire Victims!
We’ve all had those moments when someone around us experiences a heavy loss. There’s an awkwardness where you can’t find words so you say “I’m so sorry” or “let me know what I can do”, even though you know you really can’t do anything. One of my close friends lost her dad at an early age and I remember that night like it was yesterday. I just showed up and sat with her on the hearthstone of their fireplace with no way to offer any real help for the situation. So we sat there, should to shoulder, completely speechless for what seemed like an eternity. I think in times like these we just need to show up.
There’s been a pit in my stomach watching the fires rage and the death tolls go up each day. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose family or friends from this or see my home and all my neighbors homes destroyed. We’re located just south of the fire, close enough that the wind blows ash into the store, so I’ve been trying to figure out a way for us, as a brand, to show up. It’s been so encouraging and inspiring watching all the people rally and volunteer in whatever capacity they’re capable. At first, I thought we could donate a lot of clothing but the Red Cross reported they were no longer able to take any more physical donations, but they’re still need financial help.
We decided to do what we do best so we designed and printed 100 of these shirts and will sell and donate 100% of the sales to Red Cross. If we sell through all of those, we’ll continue to take online orders and donate 50% of sales for those.
One of my proudest moments owning Vardagen was when we made shirts after the Boston Marathon bombing and through those sales we were able to donate almost $20,000 to The One Fund. You guys are the ones that made that possible, we were just lucky enough to be the people to facilitate it. We’re reaching out again to our generous customers to join us in this.
Thanks for being a part of the Oposse! - @jaredingold

Murder charges filed against Navy, Marine special operators in incident that killed Green Beret in Africa: Two Navy SEALs and two Marine Raiders will face murder charges in the June 2017 death of an Army Special Forces staff sergeant in Mali.
The four personnel face UCMJ charges that include felony murder, involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, hazing and burglary in the strangulation death of Army Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar, according to a release from Navy Region Mid-Atlantic public affairs.
An Article 32 preliminary hearing for all four accused is scheduled for Dec. 10. None of those charged were named in the release.
Redacted charge sheet information reveals previously undisclosed details about the alleged incident.
Whereas previous accounts only noted that the two SEALs had assaulted Melgar, charge sheets indicate that the two Marine Raiders, identified only as a staff sergeant and a gunnery sergeant, were allegedly involved in the direct assault as well.
All four individuals are being accused of driving to the Marines' quarters to get duct tape, driving to the quarters shared by Melgar and the SEALs, then breaking down Melgar’s locked door, restraining him and binding him with duct tape and strangling him by using a chokehold.
Each has been charged with conspiracy for allegedly sharing information with each other about what they told investigators, omitting information such as the use of duct tape and the Marines’ presence in the room, and disposing of alcohol kept in the quarters.
Throwback to working in Mali on the Mali Elephant project for @actionagainstpoaching
- training a dedicated joint Malian Army/Ranger unit to protect the last remaining desert elephants. Some reports put their figures as low as 300. This is a very successful project performing and delivering better results than some other projects with 10x the funding! All of this being achieved in the middle of a war zone and with odds stacked against the unit. Unfortunately the unit has lost a couple of comrades over the last 18-months alone and is a very dangerous job. All the more remarkable at their success. With @roryjayoung @nigelkuhn
It was a great experience and glad I could assist where I could. There are plans to return to Africa in the next few months with @Actionagainstpoaching
This was my first walk in Sedona. I love the red rocks so much!! 🏜
Leaving this little snuggly guy in the morning is so dang hard 😩
