League News: Ravens QB Joe Flacco wants to continue his NFL career, even though it will be for a new team.
It remains to be seen whether the Ravens will release him outright or trade him to another team. However, there are enough teams in need of a starting quarterback that Flacco should be able to secure a starting job when all is said and done.
The Dolphins, Jaguars and Redskins should all be in the market for a quarterback this offseason.
It’s been clear for some time now that Flacco isn’t going to be back in Baltimore, as the team moves forward with Lamar Jackson as their starting quarterback.
Flacco, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2008. He’s currently in the third year of a six-year, $125 million contract that contained $44 million guaranteed. He is set to make base salaries of $18.5 million in 2019, $20.25 million in 2020, and $24.25 million in 2021.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Flacco will free up $10.5 million of available cap space while creating $16 million in dead money.
In 2018, Flacco started nine games and completed 61.2 percent of his passes for 2,465 yards to go along with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions for the Ravens. He also rushed for 45 yards.

THIS IS OUR QUARTERBACK🤩🐔
To all the people who were saying “He WiLl NeVeR mAkE iT iN tHe NfL”
•6-1 record as starter...IN THE NFL
•AFC NORTH CHAMPS..IN THE NFL
•4 Seed...IN THE NFL
•Also only Rookie QB in playoffs🤣🤷🏾♂️
Love this guy and very happy to see him shine in the NFL and prove ALOT of people wrong!!! Also I don’t want to hear “he’s on the Ravens and all the other QB’s got drafted to rebuilding teams.” Because before Lamar took over the Ravens were 4-5 and beat 0 teams in the playoffs. With Lamar they are 6-1 with the only loss coming to the hands of the #1
seed in the AFC the Kansas City Chiefs. They would of won at Arrowhead if Patrick Mahomes hadn’t made a miraculous play on like 4th and 15. Lamar’s first playoff game will be against The Los Angeles Chargers a home game for the Ravens. They beat the Chargers last week in Los Angeles. They play SUNDAY 1:05et on CBS EVERY LOUISVILLE FAN SHOULD BE WATCHING!!! The Ravens have gained some new fans. #GoRavens

League News: Ravens veteran S Eric Weddle told reporters that he is planning to sit down and speak with GM Eric DeCosta about his future with the team, per Jeff Zrebiec.
Weddle mentioned that he would like to play out the final year of his contract in Baltimore, but if the Ravens don’t want him back, he will retire and “ride off into the sunset.” The possibility of Weddle returning for the 2019 season isn’t a lock and still isn’t, but the door is at least open for a possible return.
Weddle, 34, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2007. He played nine seasons for the Chargers before signing a four-year, $26 million contract that included $13 million guaranteed with the Ravens for the 2016 season.
Weddle is entering the final year of his contract and stands to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2019 season.
According to SpotTrac.com, the Ravens would save $6.5M of cap space by releasing or trading Weddle, while absorbing $1.750M of dead money.
In 2018, Weddle started 16 games and recorded 68 tackles, one sack, and three pass defenses.
