Healthy Cacao Pops: who doesn’t love a healthy, crunchy, chocolatey Cacao Pops for breakfast? Add a dash of berries, yoghurt, slices of banana and it tastes like childhood happiness! I made this for my partner @srchugg for a healthy alternative to his sugar loaded breakfast cereal 🤦🏽‍♀️. I want to share this home made cacao pops recipe to all of you lovelies, that strips out all the nasties to give you a gluten free, refined sugar free goodness, as a breakfast of champions! Don’t hold back on milk (I love coconut milk), coconut yoghurt, bananas and goji berries!! 😋 It’s super easy to make and it’s delicious 🤤. 3 tbsp of coconut oil 3 tbsp of raw cacao powder (organic or Dutch premium) 3 tbs of raw honey or maple syrup for vegans 3-4 cusp fo brown rice whole grain rice puffs. 1.) Pre-heat your oven to 110C 2. To a small pot add your coconut oil, cacao powder and honey/maple and heat very gently, just until the coconut oil has melted. Remove from the heat and stir well. 3. Add the puffed brown rice to a large mixing bowl, pour over the cacao mixture and stir gently until all the rice is well coated. 4. Transfer the chocolatey rice to shallow baking trays and bake for 15 minutes (divide to 5 minutes interval) -stir gently with a wooden spoon every 5 minutes, so that the rice doesn’t stick together, and leave to cool before transferring to a large glass jar for storage. Guys, flank steak is one of my all-time fave cuts of meat. It feeds a lot of people for not a lot of money, and as long as you properly marinate it it’s amazingly tender and flavorful since it has a good amount of fat. My go-to marinade includes (not always all, but always some) of the following: - soy sauce - Worcestershire sauce - lime juice - coffee (brewed) - Apple cider or balsamic vinegar - Dijon mustard - ginger - spices including garlic, onion, turmeric, curry, cumin, chili powder, ground coriander, cinnamon Pick a flavor profile and then choose some acidic liquids, and then spices that go with them! . . Usually these steaks are inconsistent when it comes to thickness so decide whether you’re ok having different doneness. If not, consider cutting it in half and cooking the halves for different amounts of time. 7-8 minutes per side will produce a medium to medium-rare steak if left whole. . . Chimichurri is really just chopped herbs, red wine vinegar, oil, chili flakes and salt! It’s so flavorful for meat or fish - try it! Dinner So I have one rule when it comes to polenta, there must be #butter and lots of it 😜 - Tonight I played around with my food and came up with this delicious concoction 🤓 Cheesy Polenta Stuffted Bell Pepper Sandwich 😳 w/ Sunflower Power #veganpesto + a #sundriedtomato marinara 🤤👌🏻 Sandwiched between 2 toasted @alvaradostreetbakery Onion Poppyseed bagels! To make the polenta I did the following • bring 2c of water + 1tbsp of butter to a boil. Next add #pinksalt and 3/4c polenta! Whisk the polenta on med high until it comes together 👍🏻 • turn the heat to low and add 1tbsp of butter. Mix with a wooden spoon until the butter is fully incorporated! • let sit for 5 mins then add another 1tbsp of butter. Mix until fully incorporated! • let sit another 5 mins, add another tbsp of butter, and mix until incorporated. • after letting it cook for about 10mins, stirring every so often, pour in 1/2c of room temp heavy cream. Mix until creamy smooth! • finally you’ll add in 3/4c shredded Gruyere, and stir until it fully melted • set aside but keep warm! To make the stuffed peppers I sliced thick rounds of green & red bell peppers and placed them into a baking dish with sun-dried tomato marinara on the bottom! I then scooped the polenta into the centers of the peppers until completely filled! Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 400 for about 30-40mins 👌🏻 Ps. Plant-Based Chocolate Cake 🎂 Ingredients: 1 cup and 2 tablespoon tigernut flour 1 cup coconut sugar 1/4 cup arrowroot powder 1/4 cup coconut flour 1/4 cacao powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/3 coconut oil @dignitycoconuts 3 flax eggs 1/2 cup warm water Instructions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a round 4inch cake pan with coconut oil. It makes 3 small cakes. Create 3 flax eggs by mixing 3 tablespoon flaxseed meal and 9 tablespoons water. Let rest in your fridge for 15-30 minutes to thicken. Whisk flax egg, tigernut flour, coconut sugar, coconut flour, arrowroot flour, baking soda, vanilla extract, coconut oil, cacao powder, water, and mix until smooth. Pour into prepared cake pan. Bake for 35 minutes. Melt your favorite vegan chocolate and pour on the cake and enjoy or make your own chocolate sauce. Chocolate sauce ¾ cup 100 gr cacao butter chopped 4 tablespoon maple syrup or honey ¼ cup 25 gr cacao powder Use a double boiler or add 3 inches water in a large saucepan bring to a boil over medium heat. Put a glass mixing bowl on top. @pizzaexpress saving lives today! I've their eaten GF pizza in the restaurant but never at home. It didn't disappoint either. quick & easy dinner tonight, some @traderjoes penne, shrimp, and spinach. So easy! When the pasta was halfway cooked, sautéed the shrimp w/ some olive oil, salt, pepper, minced garlic, chili powder, and oregano. Set them aside for a minute to sauté some spinach in the same pan. Add it all in w/ the cooked pasta w/ a little more olive oil and salt and pepper and walllllaaaah! 💃🏻 Jareds pasta was paired w/ my mamas homemade meatballs and sauce ... equally as delicious (prob more delicious 🙈)
Hare Krishna feeds are the BEST! Absolutely delicious and super economical! There’s not many restaurants that you can feed a family of four with nutritious food for under $30 these days! We even left with leftovers. Such a hit with my family, we always make an effort to stop(or make special trips)here when passing through!

Dinner was easy, simple and that I say #vegan too ; Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup of precooked lentils. 1/2 cup of vegetable broth 1 roma tomato diced 1/4 cup of poblano pepper diced 1 1/2 tablespoons of red onion diced 1 teaspoon of oil Dash of salt,pepper, and oregano. Preparation: In small pot preheated it in the stovetop, once is hot add the oil and vegetables let the vegetables cooked for 2-3 minutes. After the vegetables are cooked add the lentils, broth, and spices to the pot mix together and let it cooked for 10-15 minutes. Eat as a soup with a side of avocado and tortillas if you prefer and you will have a meal full of veggies and iron that will keep you full and alert. Happy first day of autumn! 🍁Here’s a great recipe for pumpkin energy bites: 1 cup dates + 1 cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup pecans + 1/4 cup pumpkin puree + 1 tbsp maple syrup + 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice + 1/4 tsp maple extract + 1 tbsp chia seeds. Mix together in the food processor and form into balls. 🎃
This was our first time cooking on a salt block and the result was delicious! We just seasoned with a small amount of Lowry’s season salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder (the recipe for simple seasoned grilled beef is on my website). Place the salt block on grill while it heats to 350. Once hot, place one steak on the salt block and grill for about twenty minutes (for medium). My mom’s recipe for biriyani. It’s a bit elaborate. Not as elaborate as I used to think though with all my laissez Faire cooking style. So here you go. . #RecipeShare Cook 2 cups of basmati riceseparately. Cook 1.5 cups of mixed vegetables. I usually just steam them.m separately. Mainly potato, beans, peas and beetroot. The masala paste 1 medium onion 4 garlic pods 6-7 green chillies (Thai peppers) 1 bunch of coriander leaves 1/2 bunch of mint (0r more of u prefer) 1 tsp of Poppy seeds 1 tsp Of cumin seeds 10 poda Of cardamompeeled and powdered . Make into a paste. . Heat ghee, addcashews and raisins. Add one chopped onion and 2 bag leaves and 5-7 cloves and fry. Add masala paste and fry. Then add vegetables and salt and a wee bit 1/2 tsp of some garam masala Cover and let it cook together Next add cooled rice. . This part you can layer and do it but I don’t. Ghee is key. . Done. Eat with some raita and potato chips :) . . . Let me know if you do try. Alright everyone! You all voted “yes” for my “Skinny Cookies” recipe so here you go: Skinny Cookies 2 bananas 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter 1 cup oats 2 tbsp Life’s Good chocolate chips 2 tbsp crushed walnuts Pinch of Himalayan salt Pinch of stevia Directions In a large bowl mash both bananas with a fork until you have reached a creamy and slightly chunky texture. Add peanut butter to banana mixture and stir generously. Once stirred add in oats, chocolate chips, walnuts, salt and stevia. Mix all of the ingredients together with a spoon or spatula. Take out a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spoon out mixture onto sheet into cookies. Take a fork and press into each cookie twice. Put cookies in the oven at 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes. After cookies are baked let them sit out for 5-10 minutes to cool off. Enjoy! FOOD INTENTION: (Say food intention before consuming cookies.) I intend for these cookies to help me achieve my sexiest self yet. A few years back, I tried Brussel Sprouts w. scotch bonnet vinegar & cauliflower cheese sauce at Rasa Bar, downtown Toronto, and I have not stopped talking about them since. Truthfully I wasn’t going to order them as I’m generally not a fan of brussel sprouts, but the waitress HIGHLY highly highly suggested that I order them - I am so thankful she was my waitress that night. I haven’t attempted to make that dish yet (but I will soon!) however, that dish made me realize that if you season brussel sprouts well, they can be absolutely delicious! I now make Roasted Brussels Sprouts w. Bacon🥓 and it has become a weekend favourite in this house! • INGREDIENTS 1 cup brussel sprouts 5 strips of bacon 1 garlic clove 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp onion powder 1 tbsp butter Salt & pepper to taste - top with chili flakes! • HOW TO 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cook bacon in a large frying pan on the stove. 3. Remove from heat and set bacon aside on a flat plate with paper towel. 4. Remove the bacon grease (but keep about 1 tablespoon worth still in the pan!) 5. Wash, cut and clean each brussel sprout. 6. Add the butter to the pan (mixed into the bacon grease), let the butter melt. 7. Add the minced garlic - Let cook for 1 minute. Add the brussel sprouts, paprika, onion, salt, pepper and chili flakes. Let the sprouts brown. 8. Chop the bacon into small bits and add them to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes. 9. Remove the mixture from the heat and place in a small oven pan. Bake for 15 minutes. 10. I could barely keep my hands off of these fiesta lettuce wrap tacos long enough to take a picture! They were just that good!😋 Thanks to a super cool package I received from @peteslivinggreens , my Friday night was definitely fabulous once I whipped up this healthy and flavorful dinner! 💚🌱🥑 To make the taco fillings, I simply boiled one can of black beans until they thickened with 2 cloves of minced garlic, sea salt, cumin, and chili powder. While this was reducing, I also cooked 1/2 a cup of quinoa according to its package directions. Finally while these two fillings were finishing up, I sautéed 1/2 a red bell pepper and 1/2 a red onion (both sliced thinly) in avocado oil + sea salt, cubed 1 avocado, sliced 1 tomato, and rinsed 12 red butter lettuce leaves from my @peteslivinggreens red butter lettuce head. Once the quinoa and beans were done, I assembled a scoop of each filling on top of two butter lettuce leaves for a total of 6 fiesta lettuce wrap tacos (this recipe serves 2 people)🤗 I hope you guys love his recipe as much as I do! Saturday: 🥟🥟Prawn Gyozas!!! 🥟🥟 I have to say I’ve never cooked gyozas before & I was slightly worried about how they would turn out but I’m pretty chuffed with these! 🤗🤗 ~ Thank you to the lovely @maegabriel who is not only my brother’s girlfriend but an incredible cook with a pretty awesome Instagram account too!...go check her out! She cooks the most delicious food.. ~ Now she hasn’t actually got round to writing this recipe up on her website yet so she has very kindly let me share this recipe with you here! Thanks Mae! 😘 ~ This recipe uses pre made wrappers so actually super simple to make but so full of flavour!...I wasn’t actually intending on making my own dough but I stupidly ordered the wrong thing when ordering online! 🤦🏻‍♀️ (see stories for what I ordered instead!) ~ Anyway here it is...my kids LOVED these so a hit all round tonight! ~ 6 large raw tiger prawns 2 tbsp Teriyaki sauce 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 stalk thin spring onions (finely sliced) 1 tsp finely grated ginger Salt & pepper 1 tsp sesame oil Gyoza wrappers (12-14) For cooking, 2 tbsp oil 1/2 cup water If the Gyoza are frozen, thaw for up to 2 hours. Finely chop the raw tiger prawns, place in a bowl, add the sliced spring onions, ginger & the rest of ingredients salt & pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly. ~ Heat a frying pan with 1 tbsp oil. Fry a little of the prawn mixture until cooked, taste to check for seasoning. Adjust as necessary. Do this until you get the flavours just right. ~ When ready to wrap, place a heaped tsp of prawn mix in the middle of the Gyoza wrapper, fold in half and pinch the sides to close, forming a half moon. Do this until you have finished the rest of the prawns mix. ~ Reheat the pan with oil on medium heat. Add the Gyoza to the pan. It should sizzle. Cook one side until it’s golden brown. Then add 1/2 cup of water to the pan & cover to let the steam cook the Gyoza. Cook covered until all the water evaporated. The residual oil will crisp up the sides once more. Take off the heat & serve immediately. ~ Sauce 2 tbsp light soy sauce 1/2 fresh lemon juice Chilli oil Honestly so good!!! Xx ~ ~ #familyfoodtribe #familyfood #familymeals #gyozas
