I almost never wear jewelry just because it’s pretty. The story or meaning behind it is very important for me. That’s why I fell in love with the jewelry of @melaniepigeaudjewelry. These items are made of recycled gold or silver and are sustainably made. The founder of this brand, Mélanie Pigeaud, calls her jewelry pieces ‘heroes’: The word ‘heroes’ refers to the mine workers in the gold and silver mines across the world. Mélanie Pigeaud truly sees them as heroes, they work so hard (under such bad working conditions) to find the best gold and silver in the world. By creating these pieces, she gives them a voice. I couldn’t love this silver Caesar necklace more! #melaniepigeaudjewelry #myheroes #sustainablejewelry #ad . . . . . #sustainablefashion #sustainablefashionista #ethicallymade #fashrev #sustainablestyle #ecoconscious #slowfashionmovement #refashiom #buylesschoosewell #makeanimpact #ethicaljewelry #ethicaljewellery #sustainableliving #brandswithastory

I made this skirt about a month or so ago. And the top I made from an old dress. Loving this look! #diy #sew #refashiom #thrifting #thriftstoreshavethebestfabric #penticton #okanagan #okanaganlifestyle #canadiangirl #summer
This is from the top of the last dress that I posted! I was thinking of just wearing the teal top by itself, but it was too plain. I found some pearly satin (I think?) in my stash of fabrics and made a peplum out of 1-inch box pleats. The fabric wasn't long enough for me to make a continous line of pleats, so I had to cut multiple sheets of satin to sew into one long line. One mistake of mine was that I misaligned one of the seams of the peplum when I attached it to the top, so the seam of the peplum ended up showing on the front of my top instead of in the back. Overall, I'm still in love with what I made! *pats myself in the back*
