As with any type of pranayama, or breathing technique, it can take a few months of practice to get the nuances working for you. Might as well start tonight! It works best if you're sitting up tall. Place the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth right behind your upper teeth. Start with an exhale and let your breath woosh out of your pursed lips. Then softly close your lips and inhale for 4. Hold your breath for 7...this is the exciting part! Then exhale again for your count of 8, making that whooshing sound. That's one round.
