Well now, #anempowered2019
turned into a rather ill one - cancelled everything but one appointment from Tuesday to today. Slept, walked a small bit, didn’t feel like caffeine which is the sure fire marker that you’re not well huh? Took every bit of gentle life principle onto myself. Stayed offline for the most part (ironically as I was hosting a digital relearning challenge in the gentle life hub but hey seems apt!). Feeling better as I head into the weekend and really hoping to be well enough to head to @shoot.edit.chat.repeat
event tomorrow. In the meantime heres a few mental checklist things for when you might be sick too:
- tell people as soon as you think you’ll not be well. I cleared 2 full days but still had to move extra things as didn’t quite predict the length of the cold. It just manages your head and their expectations so much better 😍
- get outside even to walk up and down the street. Moving and fresh air helps to restore and renew the tired bones and snot (there’s science in there and everything)
- People usually love to help if you let them. My members have sent amazing recommendations for cold recipes and my friend walked the dog and my husband has looked after me in the evening. It’s just a simple cold but even when you can’t move all that much it’s so helpful
- don’t evaluate anything in the cold light of, well, a cold. Your mind will play tricks on you especially if you’ve not slept well - if your brain turns negative when you’re physically not well, try to see it as a way to wait it out and let the mood change for when you’re better, just in case you know?
Right, 2 hours to decide if I’m well enough for aerial yoga tonight. And a huge thanks to everyone I moved, cancelled, didn’t go live for, again 🌿🙏🏻🌿 Patient Image courtesy of @sarahziegler
