Slowly recovering from back-to-back flues, adjusting to being back at work, and settling into a new home! Oh, and of course there is my giant 4.5 month old who demands for me to sing and dance for him with any of the spare time. Life has been so busy for me in all good ways. I dealt with any stressors positivity these past few months, however, the zero amount of “me-time” must have caught up and got me sick to remind myself to rest for a bit.
As a reminder to you on-the-goers, keep yourselves rested, fed, and hydrated! Life is busy and you gotta stay healthy so you can embrace the fun stuff 😊.

When life gets hectic, there are so many times, especially in my past where I let the stress of my situation overwhelm me. I let it completely take over my actions and emotions and wreak havoc on my life.
For years I have been working on keeping my cool when things get crazy. I’ve definitely had my successes and failures in that time, but after a very long weekend of two gigs, homework, moving into a new apartment, and very little sleep, it was so nice to be able to take a few minutes a day for myself.
It reminded me how important it is, especially during hectic times, to take care of myself and give my mind and body a chance to rest and recharge. Sure this weekend was stressful, but I know for a fact it would have been 1000 times worse if I hadn’t taken the time I needed.
Here’s to a work in progress and I’m happy to say, I think this time was a success.

I am all about self care and making sure to make yourself a priority because it is important. No one else is going to do that for you 💁♀️.
One thing I’m realizing is as nice as a massage, a pedicure, or a facial are. Sometimes, especially as a night shift nurse, self care is about SLEEP 😴 Plain and simple.
It is hard because I do love to make Sunday’s my special time with my family since the hubs and I are both off, but my body needs the rest after my shifts. So yesterday I took time to sleep after church, and I’m going to do the same now that Camden is napping and Landon is resting after school. And that is OK!
Listen to your body. Rest is good for you too. 💕.
