An old classic that you don't see everyday today
Tuckpointing Kew - progress
Giving the zinc frames a full on deep clean!
“For each chirping cricket beheld by someone’s neural radar, each operatic vocalization of a songbird, each showy blossom saturated with pigment, each coat of fur with vivid hues, each plume of feathers gleaming blue, each visually dazzling or noisy cue, there are umpteen unheard unseen instances of teeming molecular transmissions. There is no comparability at all.” ~ The Perfume of Life
There are some restaurants in Europe, which are not Michelin-starred for some reason. However, it doesn’t mean that the kitchen isn’t wonderful there. It is even harder to find them, but it is possible through the word of mouth.
The restaurant “Mere” is a prime example of such restaurants. The chef is quite a bright woman - Monica.
Obviously, she is very experienced: she worked as a sous-chef in the restaurant Gavrosh, that has two Michelin stars, for 12 years.
Her dishes literally had my head turned to such an extent that I was ready to write in “Guide” with the question “Why are there still no stars?” It is absolutely remiss of them.
When you come to the restaurant, you are immediately offered to go into the lounge area for aperitif. It makes the right mood and relaxed atmosphere. After a few glasses of “Champagne Vintage 2004” from Deval Leroy, we came sit at our table where gastronomic madness started. There were six servings with carefully selected wines. The sommelier of the restaurant was also a woman.
These three hours just flew by as one instant.
