governing.. they tried all they could by training and with the use of resources available... The revolt which was planned for September 29th began sadly instead on the 23rd as a result of betrayal 💔 sell outs have always been in existence in all cultures and countries #histories
On the evening of the 23rd the brave independence Fighters met at the farm of Manuel Rojas in Pezuelas, in Lares. Led by Manuel Rojas this group of men and women marched towards Lares... Second in command was Matías Brugman, other leaders were Joaquín Parrilla, Eusebio Ibarra, Manuel Cebollero, Juan Terreforte,Andrés Pol y Gambino Plumey.
This group was able to take back the town of Lares without much resistance before the Spaniards were informed to bring back up and it quickly out numbered the #revolutionaries
in the revolt.
The revolutionaries heroics proceeded to form a provisional government declaring an independent Puerto Rico Republic. The new President was Francisco Ramírez, Aurelio Méndez was the Government Minister, Clemente Millán was the Justice Minister, Federico Valencia was the Minister of the Treasury, Manuel Ramírez was the Secretary of State, Bernabé Pol was the Secretary... And so The following day they marched to San Sebastián where the Spanish militia awaited them heavily armed ...having been warned they prepared all their Force's... and such a betrayal on this capacity was tragic to our freedom fighters that day.. Within 24 hours all the twelve years in planning, saving , training...was ruined by cowards loyal to the colonizers in the Crown.
