Here are the normals for Shape Test 3 and 4, as seen in previous posts.
A study in digital / material fidelity, these forms are made from only five unique blocks. Those blocks all have edges of only two lengths. Every line is either 1 unit length or sqrt 2 units. And so there are 26 possible face orientations, rather than the infinite number possible with reparameterized surfaces or the 6 possible with a brick honeycomb.
This was done in Grasshopper as proof of concept, I intend to script a library in C# to streamline the calculation for the construction of a pavilion.

Design has constraints, in order to make a product feasible and viable you must think about supply chain. While we loved our original cups with lots of curvature, their curvy design would cause waste and excess costs. Here is a simple integration on what a new hemp fiber cup could look like. Btw take the time to discover all the uses for hemp, I’m sure you would be as amazed as we were!
