#medalmonday I guess my first OCR season's over then. What started as a fundraiser for @rhnuk ended at the @ocrwc. Bit crazy really. I'm feeling a bit bereft with no big challenges on the horizon ... Any suggestions? (@afeweebrixton I'm looking at you! 😂). Will I keep doing it? I said it was my first season didn't I ... #spartan #spartanathlete #spartansprint #spartansuper #spartanbeast #aroo #ocr #ocrlife #ocrathlete #ocrwc18 #ocrwcfinisher #obstaclecourseracer #fitgirl #stronggirl #fitspo #girlswhobox #girlswhorun #girlswholift #rhn #charity

Whoa! Week 7️⃣! Time flies! So what are we talking about this week…Phytonutrients…what is this? Certain substances found in plant foods that are amazingly beneficial and health-ful to our bodies while helping prevent illness and chronic disease. There are no set criteria that defines a “superfood”, they are simply fruits and vegetables which offer a more powerful nutritional punch because of the quality and quantity of the vitamins and nutrients. These superfoods are full of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, fiber & natural phytonutrients. Studies show that our gut microbiome is happiest when we feed it plant chemicals called polyphenols, other phytonutrients and fibre. The greatest indicator of how healthy your gut bacteria are is in the diversity of the plants you eat! The more colourful, variety of food you eat, the better you will feel, and the healthier you will be. Let’s work on this week at eating 5 different colours at a meal. Show me your plates! 🍎🍐🍊🍋🍆🥑🥦🥒🥕🌶🥝🍓🍍🍌🍉🍑 #week7 #phytonutrients #showmeyourplate #strathroy #challenge #variety #colour #eatmoreplants #plantfoods #nutrition #rhn #nutritionist #healthy #healthymind #healthybody #healthylifestyle
💥 Comment if you agree! 💥
Avocado + Kimchi = Dinner. • Two of the best foods for gut health, brain health and weight loss. Fermented foods like kimchi help to replenish good bacteria in the gut which are vital for proper digestion and assimilation of food. The body needs to do this in order for the nutrients to be distributed to where they are needed. When food is not broken down thoroughly it can cause gas, bloating, constipation and weight gain among other uncomfortable side effects. • Avocado is a healthy fat that contributes to both gut and brain health. Your brain is made up of 60% fat so that’s exactly what you need to nourish it. Good healthy fats do not make you gain weight as was once believed. They actually help you to absorb fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K. • Time to start thinking outside the box and get the real facts on food and nutrition because we cannot fix something by doing the exact same thing we’ve always done. We can only fix something by making a change. • #guthealth #brainhealth #brainfood #healingfoods #foodheals #healyourself #healyourbody #eatlovenourish #bodymindspirit #holisticwellness #holisticnutrition #wellnesscoach #rhn #torontofoodie
We made it! 😊 9 provinces, 117 days & over 18,000km explored from Cape Spear, NL to Mile 0, BC! As per my usual introverted ways, I failed to post during the last half of our journey, preferring to sink fully into the experience, without the pressure of social media. I love social media, but for my own wellbeing I do need to pull back once in a while. ✌ . So what now? Well, we've been hanging out with family in the Vancouver area and were lucky enough to secure a house & cat sitting gig for the months of Nov, Dec & Jan. We'll be heading back to Nova Scotia in the Spring to purchase land. . . . . . #roadtrip #crosscanadaroadtrip #canadianroadtrip #greatcanadianroadtrip #explore #newadventures #prius #hybrid #travel #wanderlust #earthship #earthhome #holisticlifestyle #holistic #holisticnutrition #naturalnutrition #rhn #plantbasedcook #certifiedaromatherapist #reikimaster #ecofriendly #zerowaste #reducetarian #flexitarian #nutritarian #vancouver #victoria #britishcolumbia #mile0

Apple Cinnamon Protein Muffins 😍 Wasn’t sure how these would turn out - I literally dumped the typical baking ingredients in a bowl with two chopped apples & unflavoured plant protein powder, adding liquid until it had a decent consistency, scooped into muffin tins & popped in the oven for an unknown amount of time .... 🙈 #nailedit __ Surprisingly they smell & taste great! ... now if only I had the recipe to share 😅 . . #proteinmuffins #applecinnamon #smellslikefall #mealprep #rebelbaking #adashofthisnthat #notabaker #plantbased #veganmuffins #plantprotein #iohealth #rhn #holisticnutrition

“I am so tired of not feeling good about myself....”. SO what's the point of THIS 5 week challenge? It’s not to lose as much weight as possible as quickly as possible. Instead, the point of OUR FALL 5 is to focus on creating quality habits and accomplishing small goals. When you can do this consistently and sustainably in those five weeks, you build up something within you...it's this thing called momentum and it truly is the 'magic pill' to success. When this begins to happen suddenly the once impossible's develop small glistens of hope and faith in ones own ability to achieve and succeed. By breaking cycles down into SHORT TERM increments you take away from the debilitating idea of the work ahead over the next umpteen days/months/years and rather focus on the achievable tasks of THIS day. When you begin to string together multiple days/weeks of SUSTAINABLE success suddenly these new habits become just everyday normal life. Mandy trained 4x a week with 30 minute workouts. She balanced being a wife, mother, full time nurse and most importantly taking care of herself. She didn’t always have time so instead she made time. She established a support circle with her friends who in turn she inspired to make lifestyle choices for their own journey. She never missed a session, showed up, stepped up and left stronger than she started. On days she found it easier to give up, she reminded herself to just show up knowing she wouldn’t regret it. At week 3 of her 5 she enjoyed a girls night of that included cocktails and a not so ‘diet’ friendly meal. Typically this kind of night would have caused an immense amount of anxiety and resulted in feelings of failure spiralling into a whirl wind of self sabotage. However, together we game planned for the night coming up with constant affirmation that LIFE is still going to happen regardless and you decide whether you live it or lose out on moments in it. It was that night she commented “I went out for the night and felt beautiful”. Manda gained the confidence to lead and LIVE a sustainable and healthy and wholesome lifestyle both in body and mind. #rawholisticnutrition #rhn #csnn #Fall5 @fidelityfitness
Celebrating my Moms 75th Birthday today! I cherish each one that we get to see!! I make her one of her favourite dishes, from scratch, no matter what it is!! ( with a healthy spin of course- but she can never tell 😉!!) Today I’ve made her homemade Donairs with 100% local organic grass fed beef, and of course an awesome vegan option of portobello mushroom gyros! All sauces are from scratch and made with love and wholesome ingredients!! The CAKE 🎂 is always the big favourite though and this year she wanted chocolate and mint! I’m sneaky and made it vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free! I can’t wait to cut into it and dive in with a hot cup of tea!!
This is how our veggies are roasting tonight! Layered onion, squash & zucchini, in a marinara sauce about to go in the oven eggplant 🍆 . . . #wholehealth #roastedveg #veggies #rhn #marinarasauce #eggplant #acornsquash #onion #wholehealth #nutrition
Who doesn’t love finding Nemo??? But in all seriousness, as silly as it might seem this is something I repeat to myself...often. Because like Nemo, the destination can seem like an endless journey, but in entrepreneurship you just have to keep going and understand that building something you are passionate about is a process and you are in it for the long game... so just keep swimming 🐟
Have you ever heard/ tried delicata squash? It is a variety of winter squash characterized by its “delicate” rind. So delicious and an easy squash to make as it’s not as tough to slice as some of the other squashes that contain tougher peels. A few reasons I love it are due to its’ high fibre content (you can eat the peel!), high in vitamin A, and even though it is a starchy veggie, it is lower in carbs than some other squash/ potato varieties (for those that need to monitor their carb intake). To make delicata squash, wash/ scrub the squash well and cut off the ends. Slice the squash in half (the long way). Scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Cut into thin pieces (half moon shapes). Drizzle with avocado oil and season with sea salt and black pepper. When baking this today I added cinnamon and turmeric as well for a nice change ! Bake it at 425 F for about 20-30 minutes, or until they’re as crispy as you’d like ! 😋🧡
Sunday lunches are my absolute favourite! I prefer having larger meals during the day and keeping dinner light & right. But most importantly I love having the whole family sitting around the table, some of us in pjs, some of us in dressed - all of us laughing and chatting about seemingly meaningless things. . . All of our plates are slightly different, but this is one meal that we can all enjoy. One of us (👧🏼) is already eating but it’s all about the same. We’ve got maple-glazed oven roasted Atlantic Salmon, garlic-sautéed French string beans & a vegan-friendly mashed potato with crispy leeks 😛. . . All of this prepped, cooked and plated in 40 minutes! That’s my silver lining 🤓 . . . #sundayfunday #sundaylunch #familymeal #kidapproved #veganmashedpotatoes #simplecooking #instafood #simplemeals #lunchtime #balancedmeal #dietfree #balanceddiet #keepitsimple #rhn #holisticnutritionist #nutritioncoach #healthymeals

Im all about natural beauty. Over the past few years I have been removing toxic products from my household and replacing them with naturally derived eco friendly, green products. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and since it is porous, it absorbs whatever you put on it.. If the products you use contain harmful ingredients such as harsh, toxic chemicals, colors, and fragrances, those ingredients make their way into your body, your blood and lymphatic system. The majority of mainstream body care products contain a cocktail of carcinogenic chemicals, allergens, and irritants. Which is why I choose certified organic and natural skin care products. @jusubody organic roots sprouted in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In their products they use 100% food-grade, organic ingredients, so they’re naturally rich in key vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Jusu Body products are made with the organic pulp recovered from Jusu Bar’s cold-pressed juices. It’s food for your skin. Truly free from harsh chemicals, synthetic additives, and over-processed emulsifiers and preservatives. I am so in love with the products I have recently been gifted and can’t wait to try more.. My skin has been glowing from the inside out! I am so excited to be working with this Canadian company. Follow the link in my bio to to try some of their products yourself.. easy step to transform your skin and health. http://www.jusubody.com?rfsn=1880295.b2068

√ another goal/bucket list. Ran my first 10k this morning with my sister and sister-in-law and I LOVED it. Yes, every part of my body hurts right now but I'm ready for my next one! Feeling great after my this week!! 20 days of no alcohol ad working out has also played a part in how great I'm feeling. I don't drink a lot anyway, but 20 days of nothing and eating healthy for the most part, has done wonders on how I feel, sleep, and my complexion. Week 1 of new classes begins Monday, so hoping to keep the schedule going. #fit #fitfam #fitness #fitgirl #runner #rhn #running #runninggirl #fitinspiration #fitmotivation #fitjourney #healthy #10k #orangetheory #sore

I did it!!! I’m officially an RHN! I can’t believe I achieved something so wonderful. I was depressed, eating junk food with no education in the nutrition world this time 3 years ago. I want more than anything, to help others that felt the way I felt back then, feel the way I feel now! This is my passion, this is who I am. I will be taking on clients in the near future so stay tuned! Thank you my dearest foodie friends for following along and supporting me throughout this incredible journey🎓
Pumpkin loaf & chocolate macaroons🍞🎃🍫 My mom made this for me and I was so happy when I came home and saw she baked something vegan! (My family isn’t vegan so when they make me food I feel so special)😇 I hope everyone has a lovely Friday & a lovely thanksgiving weekend with loved ones✨
Avocado toast on this chilly Thursday afternoon🍁 Just toasted some chia super grain bread, spread some smoky artichoke & herb cheese from @nutsforcheese on the bottom, sliced 1 avocado and topped it off with nutritional yeast & Himalayan pink salt✨ (cherry tomatoes too of course)🍅

Fall is here!!🍁🍂 Hello October 🎃 Time to introduce more warming foods into my diet! Cashew ice cream that tastes like cookies😍 How cool is it that we live in a time where there are SO many vegan alternatives✨🍦
Let’s take a moment to talk about something that gets brushed off as if it’s no big deal. ACNE😧 Acne is something most teenagers deal with while hitting puberty, but some of us are lucky enough to deal with adult acne!🙃This is a picture of my face 2 years ago. It started with a few break outs on my forehead and eventually blew up into full blown cystic acne. My acne journey was anything but easy but it sure did teach me many valuable life lessons. Something a lot of people that haven’t dealt with acne don’t understand is how hard it is to deal with it. It’s not as simple as washing your face, drinking lots of water and not wearing make up. Acne can be caused by all sorts of internal and external insults to the body. I’m not sure what exactly caused my acne but it started to appear about 4 months after I went vegan. I think it was a mixture between changing my diet, my body detoxing & eating foods that my body couldn’t handle😥Our bodies use our skin as a last resort when it comes to toxins, so if we aren’t properly eliminating toxins in the body, it’ll show up on our skin. My diet was awful for YEARS before I changed my lifestyle and once I started getting acne I noticed certain foods made my skin flare up/break out. I would wear HEAVY full coverage foundation to cover up all of my spots. I knew the make up was making my skin worse because it was clogging my pores & exposing my skin to a ton of chemicals but I was so embarrassed of my skin. My acne caused such bad anxiety to the point where it was hard for me to even go in public with a bare face. Acne taught me to accept myself as I am, flaws and all, to accept others, not to judge a book by its cover, to love myself as I am & to listen to my body regardless of what society thinks. I switched my foundation to an all natural mineral powder, changed a few things in my diet and even today I still get break outs but not nearly as bad. Just a friendly reminder that even those who have a good diet, take care of themselves and are clean can still have a face full of cystic acne. Be kind, don’t make someone feel dirty or ugly for having acne.✨❤️
Hello my foodie friends! Happy Thursday🌻 I moved some furniture around last night and made myself a little meditation/yoga space. I put my plants, fountain, salt lamp, crystals, horoscope calendar, books and yoga mat in this area of my room and boy am I feeling ZEN AF✨ I’ve never been one to do yoga, only here and there but I really want to learn & incorporate it into my daily routine. I do a lot of breath work with my chiropractor & her studio is very chill and has a similar vibe, so I thought why not create the same vibe and work with my body and my breath at home too? Yoga is great for relaxation, flexibility, learning how to listen to your body, stress relief, exercise, BREATHING properly, and just becoming aware of what’s going on with your body. I’m excited to see where this little journey will take me. So far I’m loving this little spot in my room and I encourage whoever is reading this to create a little space in their room/house to go to for relaxation🙏🏼
I was cleaning my room today and came across some of my old poems that I wrote about 3 years ago when I was in the midst of what seemed like the most chaotic time in my life. I found this poem and it made me smile. “Starting not to feel alone, starting to make myself at home. Times have changed and so have I. Starting to spread my wings and fly. My skin is thicker, I am no longer weak. For it was help I had started to seek. The clouds have vanished, the sun has appeared. My thoughts are no longer blurry, they’re becoming clear. Slowly getting my head in straight. Not sure if this was luck, or fate. In order to love your life you have to love yourself. Start taking care of your mental and physical health. If you are stuck in a dark place and can’t get out, reach for your loved ones, they’re there to help. I want you to know that you are loved, down on earth and up above”✨
Went to pick up Buddy’s paw print today.🐾 Today marks one week without him & picking up this little clay paw print was actually so much harder than I thought it was going to be. I shed so many tears on my walk home.. (good thing I was wearing sunglasses!)😬 just made myself this lunch to try and make myself feel a little better😅 Maple cinnamon waffle with maple syrup & cacao powder✨ Toast with coconut peanut butter, cinnamon & banana 🍌 Grapes 🍇 I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday, hug your pets extra tight for me💓
SELF CARE✨ It’s so important to take care of yourself when you’re going through a rough patch. So many people will let whatever is happening to them CONSUME them. It’s important to flow with what is happening and not neglect your health (mental or physical). I know first hand how hard it is to eat healthy, get exercise and take care of myself when I’m sad. I’ll be honest, my room is a mess, I haven’t been caring about what I’ve been eating & I’ve been going to bed super late and waking up super late. This is all a result of what has been going on in my life. I get to a point where I’ll wake up and say “what are we doing? Why am I neglecting my health and well-being simply because I’m sad and something bad had happened?” In times like these we should be taking care of ourselves the most! As hard as it is, our bodies need love and we need to be our own best friends and pick ourselves back up when we’ve been kicked down. I’m starting my day off with positive intentions and a smoothie & I’m going to make today a good one! I’m done with this mopey state of mind. From this day forward I’m jumping back into my self care routine and I’m going to pick myself back up💓 Happy Friday my foodie friends, make today a good one✨
Hello my foodie friends! Happy hump day 🐪 Life has been a bit challenging for me lately, hence my lack of posts but here’s a nice pic of my raspberries, blackberries & grapes. Life update: I quit my job of 5 years on Saturday, my cat that I’ve had for 13 years passed away yesterday and I’m currently trying to adapt to these huge shifts in my life. My cat peed on my bed before he passed so I couldn’t sleep in my bed the night he passed away and I’ve been sleeping on memory foam (which hurts my back). My other cat was his litter mate so I have to comfort my grieving kitty because this is their first time being separated.. EVER! I have giant bags under my eyes from lack of sleep, crying and overthinking everything that’s been happening but I feel at peace. I don’t feel anxious, I don’t feel scared, I feel ready to tackle this new chapter in my life. Here’s to new beginnings and turning the page of a very long chapter in my life. Wishing everyone a lovely rest of their week and sending good vibes across the globe to anyone and everyone reading this. Keep growing, keep morphing, keep evolving. There so much more to come✨🍇
Good morning🌞 Just reading my little positive affirmation book whilst eating oatmeal (with flaxseeds, berries, banana, chia seeds and cacao powder) 🍌🥣 Today I affirm: ✨I am at peace with all that has happened in the past✨ ✨I am thankful that I get to live another day on this beautiful earth✨ It’s a cool, gloomy day here in London so I’ll just be spending my day relaxing before work. I hope all of you beautiful souls have a great Thursday and don’t forget to use positive affirmations today🌞 (say these affirmations to yourself everyday and eventually your negative self talk will slowly be replaced with positive self talk) 💖✨
I’ve been really hard on myself lately and been feeling down for the past few weeks. I often forget how far I’ve come in the last 3 years but I’ve been reminiscing and remembering where I was and how I got to where I am today and that usually helps to give me hope when I feel down. I used to be so depressed I would feel lonely no matter who I was with. I used to be on antidepressants and antipsychotics. I used to use junk food as a coping mechanism and binge eat to drown my sorrows. For a month straight I would stay in bed until 4:00 pm and only get out of bed only for food and to use the bathroom. I would drink away my pain, smoke away my pain, eat away my pain but nothing ever truly made the pain go away. I AM THE ONE that had to dig deep and get to the root of my issues instead of trying to cover them up, instead of using unhealthy coping mechanisms and telling myself that it didn’t matter what I did to my body because I hated myself anyways. I changed my diet, changed my lifestyle, overcame severe social anxiety and driving anxiety, I chose to get off of my medications, I changed my coping mechanisms from unhealthy to healthy ones, I ended bad relationships, I got professional help, I finished school and went into my exam with 80%, I DID ALL OF THIS. I cannot expect things to get better unless I make a change. It’s hard to remember that life doesn’t get better on its own & on days like these I’ve had to remind myself of this quite often. I’m not ashamed of where I’ve been and what I’ve done. I am damn proud of the things I’ve overcome and if you’re having a hard time or feeling like there’s no hope, just remember you have the power to turn your life around. Your mindset, your willpower, your ability to change certain aspects of your life that are no longer serving you, anything. If I have advice for anyone (including myself) it would be, don’t expect others to fix you, don’t expect anyone to get help for you because in the end everything starts and ends with you.
Went to see 3 different waterfalls today and hiked for 2 hours! I love soaking up all of these negative ions while the sun shines on my skin!!🌞🌿

Here are my two favourite lamps!✨My Himalayan salt lamp and my Selenite lamp. Why are they my favourite you ask? Well.. Himalayan salt lamps are made from pure Himalayan salt crystals. Negative salt ions are released when the lamp is turned on which can increase blood flow, improve sleep quality, increase serotonin levels in the brain, and help to calm allergies and asthma.😮 Himalayan salt lamps purify air through the power of hygroscopy, which means that they attract water molecules from the air then absorb those molecules as well as any foreign particles they may be carrying, into the salt crystal. When the lamp heats up, the water molecules evaporate back into the air and the trapped dust, pollen & smoke particles will remain locked in the salt.🤗 Selenite lamps are not known for being hygroscopic or generating negative ions. Instead, selenite lamps are known for their healing and cleansing abilities, and they help to clear negative energy from our environment as well as clearing blocked energy from our chakras. Selenite also has calming properties which makes it ideal for meditation.🙏🏼 Selenite lamps help us to understand what has been occurring at the subconscious level and can also be used as a stabilizer for erratic emotions. Selenite lamps can be useful for people who are suffering from chronic illness such as chronic fatigue, skin disorders, back pain or other chronic pain. Selenite restores balance and can help you get to the root cause of a specific condition.👁 Selenite is constantly recharging itself, so you never have to worry about cleansing/charging it. Selenite can also cleanse & recharge, your crystals/gemstones! I highly recommend purchasing one or both of these because I absolutely love mine. I have my salt lamp turned on all the time and put a book in front of it at night to sleep. I have 4 Himalayan salt lamps in my house so hopefully they’re all doing their jobs.🤩 (Also, the smoke is from my Palo Santo which is said to welcome creativity, love and good fortune into your space as well as clear negative energy)

What time is it Mr. Wolf??🕑 LUNCHTIME😏🌱✨ Here we have some spelt pasta with “arrabbiata” pasta sauce🍝 cooked with red onions (nutritional yeast on top), broccoli🥦 cooked over medium heat with red and white onions topped with Himalayan pink salt and a little bit of nooch & my favourite... sauerkraut! 😍 The sun has been poking in and out of the clouds but it’s been mostly cloudy today⛅️ which makes me sad because I jumped out of bed today all excited because I saw the sun shining!!☀️ Oh well.. here’s to a day full of love and positive vibes, sending everyone good energy on the last Wednesday of August🌞✨🧡
✨“I LISTEN TO THE MESSAGES MY BODY SENDS ME AND ALWAYS ACT ON THEM”✨ ✨“I AM HEALHY IN MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT”✨ Bought this little positive affirmation book with 500 self affirmations in it!😁 Since I was talking about positive affirmations yesterday I decided having a book like this would help me (and maybe you too!)📚 just flipping through the pages, sitting outside on a blanket with my pups & my smoothie (and my amethyst cluster and geode)✨🌱 My smoothie also isn’t a chocolate smoothie!! It’s pink but looks chocolatey in this photo... but I discovered I can buy fruit in the reduced section and just freeze them for smoothies instead of buying expensive bags of frozen fruit soooooo, Here’s what’s in my smoothie: 2 frozen bananas🍌 Frozen pomegranate❤️ 1 frozen mango 🧡 1 frozen peach🍑 Blended with water💧
Did you go for a walk today? We did!🐶 Did you know.. walking improves cardiac health, can alleviate depression and fatigue by boosting serotonin production in the brain, creates less stress on joints and reduces pain, can help with weight management, improves circulation and supports stronger bones and improved balance? It’s also very important to take furry friends along with you to ensure they’re getting lots of exercise😁 my dog ends up getting bored throughout the day because everyone works so I make sure to take him for at least 2 walks a day! Walking became a drug for me when I was battling depression a few years ago and I stopped turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms and ended up walking about 2-3 times a day for hours!!! I felt amazing and still do because walking is so important to me. It’s also good to get out in the grass, play with your pups and ground with the earth. I always find myself so present and so happy when I’m playing in the park with my Leroy🐶🌱🌳💚
Messy green smoothie for this gloomy Monday morning☁️ 1 frozen banana🍌 1 frozen peach🍑 1 frozen orange🍊 1 cup of frozen spinach🍃 2 tbs of nutritional shake powder✨ Blended with water💧 I hope everyone has a lovely Monday & sets goals for themselves. It’s always a good idea to have a goal set for the day, even if it’s something as small as making your bed! You’ll still feel as though you’ve accomplished something and it’ll make you feel good about yourself. I’ve also been trying to start off my days with a positive affirmation. Positive affirmations are so important, especially in a world full of negativity, it’s always beneficial to give yourself a boost. Today my affirmation is “I am strong, I am healthy and I am capable of doing anything I put my mind to.” If you say a positive affirmation to yourself everyday (even if you don’t believe it) you’ll eventually start to believe it because it’ll be stuck in your subconscious! Which is also why negative affirmations such as “I’m stupid, I’ll never be able to do this” aren’t beneficial because they literally become stuck in our subconscious and we start to believe them! So today, try starting your week off with a positive affirmation and set a small goal for yourself☺️✨

MAGNESIUM SPRAY✨💙 Why did I purchase this? Magnesium is an important macro-mineral that a lot of people are deficient in. Many individuals don’t get enough magnesium from the food they’re eating so unless you’re supplementing, you’re more than likely deficient!😧Magnesium is involved in several hundred enzymatic reactions, many of which contribute to production of energy and cardiovascular function.🏃🏻‍♂️♥️ Magnesium is essential for cell growth, nerves, muscles, heart and the arterial system. It is known as a natural muscle relaxant and is also very helpful when dealing with PMS.😱 I purchased this magnesium spray a few days ago because I was having extremely painful cramps and I realized my magnesium citrate supplement had expired.😥Magnesium has been shown to be helpful in alleviating many PMS symptoms such as cramps, irritability, fatigue, depression and water retention and is often at its lowest level during mesturation (many symptoms are alleviated when this mineral is replenished). The many enzyme systems that require magnesium help restore normal energy levels🏃🏻‍♀️ & because of this, magnesium can also be helpful for nervousness, anxiety & insomnia.💤 This MagTherapy spray is a transdermal spray which means it penetrates the skin and delivers magnesium directly to cells. This spray is also helpful for muscle tension, aches and pains and it softens your skin!🤩 It’s pre-diluted with distilled water so even those who have sensitive skin can use it without irritation occurring. Magnesium is absorbed easiest through the skin so after buying this and using it for 2 days I haven’t felt crampy at all!☺️Adults can use up to 40 sprays a day when needed and it’s also safe for children to use as well! (ages 1-3 use 12 sprays, 4-8 use 20 sprays) Would definitely recommend buying a high quality magnesium supplement, spray or oil🌞
JADE ROLLING💚 What is it? What does it do?🤔 Jade stones have nourishing energies that are very healing and calming.😴 Jade rolling helps to improve blood circulation, skin tone and elasticity of the skin by promoting lymphatic drainage & eliminating toxins. The natural cooling effect of jade stones helps with puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles.😮 It can also help calm and even out your complexion. Our facial muscles store a lot of tension which can lead to fine lines, wrinkles especially around our forehead & eyes.👁 The jade roller will help to calm your skin, de-puff and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles while giving your skin a nice cooling massage😍 I put my jade roller in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes prior to use to help with puffiness🕒 (I’ll put it in the freezer if I don’t have much time) I roll my face in the morning and at night before bed after I’ve washed/moisturized my face! I noticed a difference in just ONE day.. my skin tone was evened out and less red/puffy. It wasn’t even me that noticed, it was my boyfriend that pointed it out (and that’s how you know it helped if a man noticed these things lol!)😂 I roll the same spot 3 times and roll out towards my hairline and down my neck. This jade roller was a gift but you can buy them in stores or online. Definitely worth purchasing✨💚
Spending some alone time with my crystals. I learned a bit about crystals 3 years ago and collecting them became a hobby & a way to occupy my time while healing myself. In this book I have, it explains everything about your crystals, the healing benefits, the history of the crystal, etc. Here is what the book says about the crystals in this photo: - Tigers eye👁 Physical healing: may help to ease stomach and gallbladder problems, increase energy levels and strength, restore balance to the body Emotional healing: reduces cravings for the wrong kind of food and food binges or excess cigarettes, prescription drugs or alcohol; reduces anxiety caused by feelings of isolation, increases willpower & emotional stability. - Tibetan turquoise💙 Physical healing: May help problems with liver, anaemia and blood health, physical strength, mobility, ear & eyesight, stomach acidity & pain relief. Emotional healing: Anti-hysteria stone, worn to calm people who over-react to situations. - Tree Agate🌲 Physical healing: May clear energy blockages and fluid retention, absorb pain especially if placed on point of pain, said to help vein & capillary problems. Emotional healing: Brings peace to a troubled mind; heals pain of unhappy childhood or effects of divorce. - Malachite💚 Physical healing: May help with immune system, arthritis, tumours, torn muscles, broken bones, toothache & gum infections, sinus blockages. Emotional healing: Gives resistance to emotional blackmail and heals emotional abuse, especially from childhood; encourages healthy relationships based on love and not need. - Ruby in kyanite☄️ Physical healing: Balancing stone, beneficial for heart, muscles, throat and throat constrictions, hormones and blood pressure, once health is restored ruby in kyanite is believed to help maintain it. Emotional healing: Best crystal for bi-polar disorder, for anyone who works away for long periods. (Inner crystals are clear quartz and moonstone) To cleanse your crystals soak them in sea salt water or use sage. To charge them use sunlight, moonlight, bury them in the earth or charge them with your own energy. Wear them, carry them around & place them in your home✨(I missed goldstone)
Dry brushing✨ What it is and why do it? Dry brushing helps remove dull layers of skin, which improves overall complexion and acts as a natural exfoliant without using any scrubs, it stimulates and increases blood circulation, eliminates toxins from the body, improving functions of your internal organs, helps prevent painful ingrown hairs, reduces the appearance of cellulite, leaves skin feeling and looking younger (gives my skin such a nice glow when I dry brush regularly) soothes and massages sore muscles, gives your energy levels a boost, assists with the distribution of fat deposits, and helps with lymph flow. I bought my dry brush from Purdy Natural & it’s one for sensitive skin (because I didn’t want to jump right into using a regular dry brush and hurt my skin!) Overall my skin feels amazing after I dry brush and I just genuinely feel better after doing it. I start at my feet and work my way up my body. I use circular motions and go over the same spot 2-3 times. It’s best to dry bush before showering, but I know some people that dry brush after a shower too! I always moisturize my body with coconut oil afterwards. 10/10 would recommend investing in one my friends! Take care of your body and your skin and don’t forget to brush towards your heart☺️
Lunch!🌞 Black beans Mashed up vegan breakfast sausage Red onion & Spinach cooked in coconut oil🍃🥥 With Himalayan pink salt on top! (Cooked in cast iron pan on medium heat)
** PSA😃 I think I’m going to start incorporating more posts that aren’t food related!😮I also want to talk about life and health outside of food. Of course food is so important to me and I’ve overcome some nasty habits that I had formed in my early childhood (binge eating, never eating anything healthy, shovelling food into my face to the point where I actually threw up because my stomach couldn’t handle how fast/how much I was eating at a time)😥I’ve become stronger, more educated, healthier and happier since April of 2015 when I decided to completely change my lifestyle.💪🏼 I’m going to start posting about real life situations as well as tips/tricks/products that I use in my everyday life.😊For those of you that don’t know me, I never used to be into anything holistic... I’ve just recently switched to an all natural lifestyle 2 years ago. It doesn’t just stop at food either, I basically use all natural everything! All of my products I use from skincare, to make up to shampoo & soap are all natural! I was just sick and tired of seeing a thousand chemicals/words I can’t pronounce in my everyday products.😒 So stay tuned (I might take a while to get posting regularly until I finish my exam in August) I will be posting lots once I’m finished my studies and become an R.H.N! 🌞✨
Hello my lovely foodie friends🌱✨ I’ve been taking little breaks from social media to try and focus on studying! But I thought I’d check back in and share what I had for dinner tonight😇 I’ve been really slacking with groceries lately so I’ve just been throwing meals together with what I have at home!😜 I just cooked up some red onion, mushrooms, local green pepper, 1 clove of garlic and mixed beans in coconut oil over medium heat in my cast iron pan, topped with Himalayan pink salt!😍 so simple but so good. I was going to make a salad instead but ended up cooking up this stir fry.... does anyone else just throw random things together and make something yummy?😂 hope everyone has had an awesome week! And since it’s 1am where I am.. HAPPY FRIDAY✨🌞🍴
