Today is pretty special for me: every year we celebrate all that our planet has to offer, and the pseudo holiday serves as a great reminder to respect the environment. But to me, Earth Day has become a personal challenge to find new ways in the next 365 to appreciate the great outdoors.
As an adventure Photographer, and frequent National Parks visitor, environmentalism usually materializes itself in posting lifestyle content from the road. And while I've had the honor of working with incredible brands on taking a more aggresive stance on being eco-friendly, we often forget that there's so much opportunity to spread the good word, even in urban areas.
That's why this Spring, i'm teaming up with @mi.usa
🛴on launching the Xiaomi Electric Scooter in North America, tackling wasteful practices like driving or even ride-sharing during our daily commute. I want to encourage everyone to spend more time with some breeze in their hair, and sun on their skin.
Initial thoughts? The scooter is POWERFUL, allowing me approximately 5️⃣ DAYS of running around NYC before needing to recharge. To push the little guy, I started with a trip to Roosevelt Island's Cherry Blossom Festival 🌸, followed by a beautiful ride down the West Side Highway to catch sunset 🌆 at Battery Park. All without carbon emissions OR breaking a sweat! 💦 .
And in the spirit of sharing some lifestyle tips on how to stay active during your daily commute, I'd like to thank the folks at @thursdayboots
👞for the comfortable yet stylish suede chukkas, @dstld
👖for the surprisingly flexible denim, @thisisground
🎒for an elegant and incredibly functional backpack, and of course @allsaints
🏍for making me feel like I was riding a motorcycle down the freeway.
BTW: Id love to hear how everyone is spending their day today! Going outside? Hiking? Camping? Enjoy the sun!!!
