At a speech and debate tournament until late tonight, so dinner’s looking a lot like this bowl I got from Honest Mary’s last week! S/o to this place for having freaking amazing vegan/gluten-free/paleo TAKEOUT and s/o to my mom for bringing me this goodness! My usual is the Songbird bowl with micro-greens instead of pumpkin seeds (I highly recommend this if you get the chance to go—it’ll always be my favorite❤️) but this time I changed it up and made my own bowl! Romy had a good time cooking with old buddy Chef Peter Hoffman at Urby Farm (Staten Island) last night. It was an exciting farm to table dinner they created using ingredients & livestock from organic farms in New York & New Jersey. Romy says the biggest hit was the chicken adobo (never fails) with people begging for more sauce. Other items on the menu were Noritaco (Romy’s invention) with heirloom rice & lamb burgers, barbecued spare ribs, roasted beets & squash & apple tart with heirloom tomato ice cream. Growing up, I wouldn't have touched a beet if my mom had paid me. Now, these beauties are one of my favorite foods!
This time, I roasted them in a little balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, & pepper. 👌🏻Deelish.

👏I was so excited to see fresh tuna on sale at my local fish monger! I managed to buy the second last fillet, as they were sold out before noon.
💥Tuna was preseasons in ground radish seeds. The story behind this was I thought I ‘d ordered a bag of radish seeds for sprouting, but instead of seeds I received grounds, never to waste a chance at a creative solution I’m over the moon as this reinforces the Asia flavours.
🍳Pan seared on four sides on a bed of hand spiralised raw kohlrabi.
🌿Paired with farmers market finds- white & candy beetroot, baby beet leaves and radish.
Dressed in finely snipped Nori and toasted sesame seeds with a sprinkling of fresh coriander.

Dinner tonight was a halal steak topped with red peppers, green beans and finished with a bernaise sauce, a side of potatoes wedges done in the actifry and a roasted beet topped with crumbled feta.
To whomever reads this, I hope you too one day get the chance to be so full of bernaise.

This white bean + roasted beet + arugula salad w/Dijon vinaigrette paired with BBQ’d ribs tonight...👌🏻 .
6 beets diced
2 cans white beans
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1/4 C white wine vinegar
1 tbsp fresh chopped rosemary
1/2 C and 2 tbsp Olive oil
1/4 C finely chopped red onion
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste .
1. Cover beets with 2 tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper, and 1/2 tbsp rosemary. Bake for 50 min at 350.
2. Whisk together 1 C olive oil, onion, white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, 1/2 tbsp rosemary, salt pepper to taste. Set aside.
3. In a large serving bowl, mix together white beans, roasted beets, arugula and Dijon vinaigrette. .
