Young bull moose on the east side of #rockymountainnationalpark
. It’s fun to find moose at a safe distance where they are relaxed and we don’t get stomped.
My trip to Colorado was such a great inspiring experience that I started this collection back in may and am slowly adding more onto it! This is the first prototype of my mountain range ring! I've been envisioning it forever. I'm pretty happy with it, the texture is SO cool but I wanna try a few different versions of this, including one with a boulder stacker ring 😁 The finalized gold version will be thinner for sure, and feature some diamond sparkle, hope you like this direction my mind is taking me! ⛰☺
1. It's a stellar day to be a steller's jay
2. We got a grouse in the house
3. Gray jay divorceé wonders if love will ever come her way
4. Charlie's angels now with real wings
5. Lemme get that nut 🥜🥜🥜
Where will the weekend take you?...
Well, we are back from vacation and settling back into our normal routine. He with his class schedules and me wondering what I will do for the week. 🤔
Since the weather is so nice 🌞, hiking came to mind. #estesparkcolorado
are my go to favorites. One of my favorites hikes is #lochlaketrail
which is considered a moderate hike. But I think I'm up for it. 👍

Hydrology: the study of the movement of water between its three latent phases.
We will always be connected to it. The availability of it is what has allowed our species to survive, to congregate and connect by it, maybe that's why its so calming for us to be around. The rivers of Earth have long brought us food, travel, protection and hope. Its interesting now in this phase of humanity that most of us live on coastlines, where the rivers end their journey. I wonder if that makes us less connected, where instead of the river being our savior, it is thought of as a servant. Providing ever flowing gifts to us. Yet in some delta regions, the flows have slowed to a trickle at times; one being the Rio Grande of my home state. I'm not saying this hypothesis is a fact, but follow with me, maybe we are on our way to the next phase of humanity, where we regain that connected conscience to the planets systems of balance. I sure hope so. .

Fall color in Rocky Mountain National Park.
While I love discovering Colorado’s colorful outdoors, the indoors can be just as adventurous. [ad] 🏔 If you can’t make it to the mountains, the @MINDBODY
app makes it easy to find fun classes like belly dancing, circus tricks, and even indoor surfing right in your backyard (landlocked state and all). Click the link in my bio to explore endorphin-boosting activities on the app and challenge yourself to a new workout this season. 💪🏻 #MINDBODY
Here’s a picture of an elk chilling, clearly not upset by my relative presence. (This was zoomed though; there’s no way I’d get too close to one of these near-800 pound animals.)
What a wonderful vacation in Calgary with the lovely @danakissick
Thinking back to our adventures in @canmorealberta
at Grassi Lakes and remembering the endless laughter we shared. 😂 South Africans hiking in snow is an amusing sight to see!
Can't wait for our next trip back to the Rockies and to see Dee again.
Hello, all! Let the record state that Photronus undertook an "Introduction To Mountaineering" course with these two, yesterday. (And by "Introduction To Mountaineering, I mean a 10 mile route, 2,000 feet + elevation gain, and nine hours through Rocky Mountain National Park.) I have not been incented in any way for this endorsement, nor did @mtnguidejoeyt
even ask for one. -
I am writing this endorsement because they were so damned impressive. No. Truly. Joe and Andy were personable and professional. But most important of all - supremely qualified, capable and knowledgable when it comes to mountaineering. -
Whether you're looking for something introductory like what I undertook yesterday or incredibly advanced, I can recommend them and @coloradomountainschool
with enthusiasm. Outstanding, OUTSTANDING work guys. It was a superlative experience yesterday. Sincerest thanks. -
Falling in love with mountains and hiking has felt like a long distance relationship to me due to living in the most flat state in the U.S.
In less than two weeks the mountains and I be reunited again. This time the location : Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. 🏔
Until then I’ll patiently wait while looking at these shots from last years trip to Colorado.

This morning as I was driving Sean to work and sipping on my coffee I looked over to him with a blank look on my face. I said “This coffee cup brings me back to one of the worst times in my life. It was back when I was in Minnesota, my eating disorder was worse than it’s ever been, I was surviving off of coffee, I was the heaviest I have ever been, and I was in a horrible depressed state. I would drink this horrible coffee in this exact cup after my long shift at the hospital just so I could muster up enough energy to workout but not enough that it would keep me up all night. This coffee cup honestly gives me PTSD.” I could distinctly taste my coffee that I use to drink just even though I was drinking pumpkin spiced coffee this morning just because I was drinking out of that coffee cup.
Have you ever had that happen? A song, a place, an object that brings you back? Back to a place where you can say you were probably in one of the most difficult and ugliest parts of your life but yet so thankful for the struggle. It’s made you who are today. .
Sometimes these objects (or whatever it may be for you) is not just a reminder of what you went through but is a symbol of the strength you developed through that struggle. .
As much as this coffee cup brought back horrible memories it reminded me the journey I have been on to get to where I’m at today. The struggle is part of the journey.
