Bottled for R.C. Williams Co., Inc., wholesale distributors of grocery products in New York on March 11, in the year 1944 (clearly on the green seal. The company itself is from May 1811 (Wikipedia is wrong with 1809!!!!) since they celebrated their 125 anniversary in may 1936. The level of the alcohol has lowered a lot, but it is still sealed. A fine WWII and therefore Pre-Castro Cuban Rum. This one was made by the original Arechabala family (Jose), before they fled to Spain in the late 1950’s like Bacardi also did (but to USA). The old distillery was situated in Cardenas in North Cuba, near Varadero, the touristy area.
If you compare the looks with the second one, a lot has changed. There is still a golden look on it, but all details have changed. You see their present logo already on it and the lay out goes to the modern one we know today. On the second there are no seals etc, so it is from before 1998 for sure, but probably the 60’s or 70’s even.
The third is a modern one with government seal etc, nothing special. It is only here to show the differences with the other ones.
Maybe I will sell the mini’s one day ………….. but then again maybe not. Time will tell. I am working on it to sell some of my bottles though ………… you keep updated on that later.
