If you didn’t get a phone full of Quokka photos, did you even go over to Rottnest?

Have you read the new CEACEA FEARLESS blog? 👊
Click the link in the bio to find out how @ceaceaswimwear
co-founder Chloe went from doing her Bronzie to swimming the Rottnest Channel swim 🏊♀️
Ever wanted to have a go at open water swimming? Hopefully this will inspire some of you to try 💦
Tell us what you think of the blog, if you are into sea swimming and if you have any tips for others wanting to start....
When it’s winter in Australia and you still wanna go in the water you find a solution 😂 Thanks wetsuit even if it was a quick swim 🏊♂️
The Queen of Butterfly @lisandra0108
showing her 👌 freestyle technique. A few things I look from this angle:
1. Shoulders and upper arm in one straight line when the hand is underneath the shoulders.
2. Fingers pointing down throughout the catch and pull
3. Arm angle of 100-120 just before hand passes beneath shoulders
4. Rotation of 33-45 degrees through shoulders at their furthest point of rotation. It’s a rocking side to side not a roll!
5. The hand should take a slightly curved path, almost like it’s tracing the outside line of the body ie a bit wider past shoulders and narrower at hips.
6. Hand exits close to hip
You don’t need to all of these but when you do it’s 🚀

what not to do the day before comp
“I didn’t know what the Paralympics was but I was watching TV and it was the first time that I identified people that looked like me achieving something. Because the only real experience I had with people with disability was in hospital corridors—and they’re not really happy places or places where you are set to achieve great things.”
Our fourth Rottnest Swim story is up online now. Get to know Katrina Porter- Australian Paralympic gold medalist, Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, member of the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, and all-round legend.
“The worst that can happen is that you try and you fail. But the hard part is getting to the point where you actually give something a go. I think a lot of us are scared to go beyond that goal-setting space.”
Our third Rottnest Swim story is up! Peter Klauz is a 30-year-old man from Perth. Having completed the English Channel Swim, and a double crossing of the Rottnest Channel Swim, Peter set a new goal to improve his single crossing time. There’s just one small catch—he doesn’t like swimming.

KSC’s Sarah braved the cold conditions to compete in the @porttopub
swim on Saturday racing across the Indian Ocean to @rottnestislandwa
fantastic job Sarah 🤙🏼
Yesterday a team of Stirling Raiders girls took to the ocean for the annual @porttopub
swim. Unfortunately the weather gods were not on our side and after a gruelling 3 hours the event was cancelled due to dangerous conditions. The teamwork and resilience these girls showed during the swim was incredible and we are all proud of the efforts they made! Go Raiders!
The Basin, Rotto...tropical paradise 🌴
A strong tailwind made for fast but choppy conditions at the 2018 Rottnest Channel swim. A shark sighting and sinking support boat made for an even more interesting day. Congrats to @solwright
on the wins. 📷 @paparazziontherun #rottnestswim
Absolute pleasure doing half a Rottnest swim with this crew including @chriscogram
😂 so unfortunate that the shark meant we had to get out at the 13km mark but still proud as punch of our achievements #rottnestswim
Had such a great weekend paddling for my amazing swim team! While they did the hard yards in the water fighting off sharks I sat in this position and occasionally paddled forwards (the lovely Easterly wind made it really easy!)
Regardless my hip flexors and shoulder blades/upper back are feeling it today so I've included my go to stretches for these two areas.
Swipe right for a hip flexor stretch and swipe again for a beautiful demo of my favourite "thread the needle" version which you can do with a friend.
Hip Flexor Stretch:
🔹Posterior pelvic tilt (tuck your tailbone under) + knee bend + trunk side bend.
🔹5 x 5 second hold, come up slightly in between.
Thread the Needle:
🔸Hold a band while rotating through to one side, partner rotates up pulling against the tensioned band to add to your stretch.
🔸Hold for a deep breath and swap positions.
4-5x on each side.
What a superstar! One of our very own @josiepage_
was the 3rd female in the solo #rottnestswim
🙌🏼. Josie completed the race in 4hr 25min! Can you believe she is only 18?! Well done Josie, we are so proud of you!
