Another snow day.😩
We've had an unbelievable amount of canceled school days this year. Took the European approach and said, "no bad weather, just bad clothes" and played outside for hours this morning. Trucking along with my tiny habits of 1 declutter and one 1 French flash card. So simple its really hard to find an excuse not to do it.

We all know routine can make it break our day.
And not ironically the next day my husband was in the ER for a cycling crash. Then two days later my mom was visiting and 2 days after she left I traveled to the east coast for a retreat.
So this week is the first real@opportunity
I feel like I’ve gotten to really implement that morning routine I talked about awhile back.
Here’s my planned schedule, in case you’re interested:
5:30am – wake up
5:30am- Drink 16 oz water + lemon
5:32am- 6am – coffee and read
6am-6:20 – meditate (minimum 5 minutes)
6:20-6:45am – make/eat balanced breakfast
6:45-7:15am – walk dogs
7:15am- 8:15am – workout (4-5x week, minimum 20 minutes)
8:15-8:45 shower and get dressed
8:45 work time
I definitely love being spontaneous but on workdays I love, crave and am most effective with routine.

Wednesday of silence. Today's workout was completely quite, and by quite I mean no music, no talking, only all the weird noise made by the cast when they are burning 😂
I have seen many feedbacks throughout the day about this and mostly it was positive.
I personally DIDN'T like it at all. I get why Shaun T did it and makes total sense but it does the opposite effect for me. I start thinking too much and asking myself "when is this over?" So, with that being said, I still did today and enjoyed it but I want music and Shaun T talking back! .

Our family could not survive without routines!
We have a family calendar, a weekly meals list and a to do list, among a few other systems that are always changing and evolving to suit our family.
I found these boards this morning at The Reject Shop for just a few bucks, as compared to lots of bucks.
You can use them with board maker pictures for children's routines, you can use your own photos, write on the boards, whatever works.

I’m very grateful for this app, Strides. (Y’all know I love some apps!) A good friend and I were talking today about how difficult it is to create routines — especially around self-care — when your work schedule is anything but routine. I’ve found that Strides has been very helpful with this. With Strides, you create trackers for habits you want to develop (or bad habits you want to break), and you mark everyday whether or not you’ve done it. It’s helped me so much in making yoga, meditation, and even this gratitude post daily habits. Because I can’t always do them at the same time everyday, I’ve had a hard time cementing these activities as automatic habits, so having an easy way to keep track (and remind me if I haven’t done something) is hugely useful.

Today’s workout wasn’t exactly my speed but I committed to the program and I’m going to finish this last week strong! Because I was feeling I could do more, I added in another workout! What we eat is very important for our health but exercise and movement is equally important ! It is one of the many elements for overall well-being, both physically and mentally.
Exercise has been a part of my life for the last 20 years. Between the gym, running, indoor interval training, aerobics, and yoga. It took practice and discipline to make it a habit and belive me it was not easy ( and it still isn't ! )
Whatever exercise you choose, I believe that having a routine is important when it comes to exercise. Of course it is also great to change it up and try new things, but what really has worked was finding that one thing and sticking to it! .
Going to the gym has done that for me. I stuck to it and yes of course it gets boring and stale sometimes! But what I love about it is that I can change it up everytime I go. Whether it's a new fitness routine, new weights, new fitness buddy or whatever you are feeling for the day! It has made me feel part of a community and motivated me.
We all know the main benefits of exercise, but one I recently heard about and excited me was while listening to @theultimatehealthpodcast.
It also gives you brain power! Yup- you can increase cognitive functions, such as memory capacity and retention. How cool is that?! 🧠

What’s been the most effective tool to keep our family healthy? In one word:

I’ve noticed the times we’re the healthiest, when emotions and stress levels seem the most under control... they’re directly related to how consistent we’ve been in our healthy habits. When I keep oils and supplements out on the counter, in easy reach, we use them so much more. And when they get tucked away in the cabinet and we’re not using them as much, life feels a little heavier & a little more ragged around the edges.
So pick a few of your favorite oils - it doesn’t even matter which ones! Keep them out where you’ll see them often and remember to put them on. Take the time to care for yourself and your family. That consistency will make such a difference!
Let’s talk routines!! So I felt we just needed a space where we could come when we want to know what is happening in our day, what the weather is when choosing our clothes to wear, when we are feeling sad or when we have a lot of energy and need to slow down or calm down! 🧘🏼♀️ 🧘♂️ So I decided to put together a space where we could come to for all these things and more!! Nu pas begin ik echt te begrijpen waarom de methodes van deze bijzondere man zo bijzonder zijn.
Wat ben ik blij dat ik hem nog net voor de echte hype heb mogen ontmoeten.
En dat ik zo'n lol met hem heb gehad.
Zoals je kan zien is dit niet de gebruikelijke "poseerfoto" met een nep-glimlach maar echt een vette en liefdevolle ontmoeting.
Ik heb hem nog een paar keer gesproken daarna.

Back in my spot, with my step, and my furry accountability partner and it feels good ☺️💫 Working out is humbling. It’s never easy. I stumbled over steps, I was out of breath, I took a mid-workout pause, but I still improved my numbers on our repeated moves and I’m still showing up for myself. Make sure you do the same 👊🏼
in the morning prior to breakfast is 1 of my favorite #routines
& as a bonus its one of the best ways I've found to keep my body fat down. Skipping #breakfast
though is not the greatest for optimal #performance
and you do run the high risk of losing #muscle
mass, so to mitigate this... I strongly recommend taking some #BCAAs
