It's been a full and lovely first weekend of fall: time shared at our women's retreat, soaking up so many of my favorite people in one place. A drive in the country, with a warm coffee, and listening to Norah Jones. Cozy overcast and rainy weekend weather with crisp smells of autumn. Braids and scarfs in my hair, light sweaters, and my darling Abner in my arms - as much as possible. Emet sharing yesterday morning with Calvin at work then coming to pick him up to see him feeling like the biggest helper and so important. Sneaking in a few slow paced moments with a couple of my dearest. An out of town friend in my home, just picking up where we left off. A much needed Sunday afternoon nap with as many cuddles as the boys would allow. Emet showing us he's growing older once again and modeling a sweet attitude. And, little pockets of time for writing and reading. 🍂
Omg guys, this stuff? It will make all your dreams come true (ok, maybe a big claim for avocado dressing, but it’s seriously off the hook good). This green goodness is one of my fave new recipes I’ve created for clients lately - mainly because you can put it on pretty much anything savoury, and it manages to stay bright green in the fridge for days (obviously through some form of culinary witchcraft haha). Anyway, make it, eat it, thanks me later 😜 recipe belooooowww! 👇🏻
. . .
Avocado, Lime & Coriander Green Goddess Dressing
INGREDIENTS • 1 ripe avocado • 1/2 cup coriander leaves • 1/4 cup parsley leaves • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice • 1/2 cup water, plus more if required • 1/4 cup olive oil • 1/4 cup raw walnuts or cashews • 1 clove garlic, crushed • 1/4 tsp sea salt • 1/4 tsp black pepper
. . .
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until very smooth. Add a bit of extra water if desired for a thinner consistency.
2. Serve over and on all the things (🥗, roasted 🥦🍠🥕 - especially 🥔,🥖,🍳, 🍚, 🥪,🌮,🥙, you get the point 😜).
. . .
SUBSTITUTIONS • Water can be replaced with milk or nut milk. Nuts can be replaced with an equal quantity of natural Greek, or unsweetened coconut, yoghurt.
🤔/😍 Unusual combinations can make for the happiest of guests! Try lemon mascarpone cheese, with sweet raspberries, extra virgin olive oil, pink peppercorns and basil! You (probably) won’t regret it! 😋

First time trying the cheese mousse black tea and I have to say - me likey👌🏻. It was the perfect balance between salty and sweet. PS. This was at the new location at 1701 Rue St-Denis.
Give me some vegetables, a hot oven and some oil and I’ll roast you something delicious with some sort of drizzly sauce on top.

A Sunday evening well spent. Spring/Summer sunsets seem to represent cotton candy colors, while Autumn filters in fiery reds and oranges.... tonights colors represent both, the beautiful change of seasons.
I swear it’s healthy.... at least in my mind it is.
This shot was inspired by one of my all time favorite films...any guesses!?
It was the first full day of autumn, and it certainly felt like it in my neck of the woods! 😍 Our first official fall road trip has us back in Vermont next weekend 🚙 and I’m already looking forward to all the pumpkin-laden porches, chilly nights, & a cider by the fire at the @barrowshouse
(per usual...) 🎃🍁🍎 What’s your favorite way to celebrate fall?
I spent today making all sorts of #keto
snacks for an upcoming trip, and ended up whipping up some of the CTC (but switched the cinnamon for pumpkin spice! 😍🍁✨!!). Highly recommend you guys follow suit (so awesome for a crunchy snack, even sans the milk). Hope y’all had a lovely Sunday! 😘 I’ve linked the recipe in stories and it’s on the blog, link in profile @gnomgnom.yum
Hey fall, we’re ready for you. 🍂

I know eating a cake made with sweet potatoes sounds weird, but you need to give this one a try!
This would be a great recipe to save and bake for Thanksgiving!

Happy belated birthday (cake)! Cheesecake is my husband’s absolute favorite, so here’s last weekend’s Ricotta Cheesecake from Real Simple magazine. Link in bio for its review on the blog!

When the first day of fall is a rainy Sunday it is the perfect opportunity to start cooking my soups again! I pour myself a glass of wine, put on some music and get chopping. This afternoon I made 2 soups (details in stories) which will feed my family for the week and beyond using the fresh ingredients I picked up at the farmers market. What is your favorite rainy day activity? #soup #rainyday #mealprep #wholefoods #organic #farmtofork #lecreuset
Pasta with butternut squash, sausage, and baby greens from @skinnytaste
for all of the fall vibes 🍁🍂🍁🍂 Used organic frozen butternut squash cubes, pre-shredded parm, and pre-washed greens as mom-friendly shortcuts ✨

Fall? What fall? Raspberry Lemonade pops are keeping summer alive for just a tad longer. #needapopsicleemoji

When your dairy products are on the verge of simultaneous expiration you get crafty💛 Yellow butter cake (recipe from @thekitchn
) made in a half sheet pan and topped with salted caramel chock full of chopped cashews. Had I sampled this cake I’d tell you that it’s delicious and the contrasting textures and slight saltines make for an outstanding use of on-hand ingredients. But you know, I’m being good 💁🏻♀️ #healthyish #sundaybaking

Scrunched up today in the corner of the living room for almost the entire day. Come 10PM tho, I went to North Edsa. Since one of our friends are going back abroad on Sunday, we agreed to meet and catch up. 😎You truly don't get to feel how time flies, until one day you talk to your friends and there's just so many experiences that you're not a part of anymore. It's overwhelming how busy people get when they explore the real world. With jobs to secure, bills to pay, and responsibilities to meet. It's sad that it could easily lead to sparing little to no time to bond. No more summer trips, no weekend getaways, not even after-work dinners. (guilty)😕 On the contrary, you could only be happy as you talk about the "now and then" with your friends. You can now laugh at the silly things you did that you were so anxious about before. You realize how your friends grown and be responsible when you were all so laid back few years ago. And you actually get to witness them be successful in life. 😁👍 Cheers to the next dinner we'll be eating together, and for the seats we'll share when we decide to go on a road trip, see you guys when I see you! Thanks to Rannel for the treat and for giving us a ride. 🤟😎👍
So I cooked pasta yesterday while I'm workin', and I realized that I used soy milk instead of whole milk cause I feel like it's healthier, but I also used three quarters of a tub of butter and four kinds of cheeses (sharp cheddar; emmental; parmesan; and pasteurized, which is abundant on Filipino grocery aisle, found out they're not real cheese but since I don't use salt, I like using them for their saltiness) And I really want to go green now cause I feel like I should do myself a favor but also who says no to cheese? Wish I could actually cook veggie based pasta that won't taste much of a leaf. And I respect people who can do just that, five claps to them 👏👏👏👏👏 *😂 I can lift a 10kg bag of groceries but I can't do a garlic press I guess 😂
Gettin' ready for tomorrow's party punch bowl!!! It's been ages since I hosted a party and I could only hope I can still mix a good bowl of punch. Still can't find Malibu's coconut rum and Apple Pucker at the winery when we went to shop for ingredients a while ago. Right now, the saving grace would be the Blue Curacao hahahaha! Hope I can find them somewhere at Eastwood tomorrow.
Still playing Tekken7 at the moment so we would totally need a good dose of caffeine to help us get up on first light. Still need to do a lot of things, but I'm excited!!!!🍸🎉🍸
