I completed the @racecheck ‘Pace Your Race’ #visorclub ‘ virtual Challenge by @powvirtualrun . The challenge is simple, choose either 5km, 10km, 10miles, 21km or 42km then try and keep each mile/km as even paced as you can, just like a pacer would. This challenge was launched at the @mcrhalf on the 14th October and you have until the end of November to complete your chosen distance. . For those that don’t know #visorclub member @garrybiddle , a regular pacer at races up & down the UK, was disagnosed with cancer earlier this year & @racecheck set up this virtual race to raise 4 @macmillancancer . Rest week lasted approximately 2 days 🤷‍♀️ Last night's recovery run on the left, I really thought my hamstrings were going to snap at one point 😆 And then today's steady miles on the right, which felt so much better! Squeezed it in at lunchtime as I knew it would be an afternoon of meetings and a late finish. Absolutely gorgeous run across some fields and down to the river. Em um estudo ,Millet e colaboradores (2002) avaliaram 15 triatletas, divididos em dois grupos divididos cujo objetivo foi verificar a influência de 14 semanas de treinamento de força de alta intensidade, na performance da corrida. . . Um grupo realizou treino força +endurance (músculos quadríceps, isquiotibiais e panturrilhas) com treinos de 3 a 5 séries de de 3 a 5 repetições, 2x por semana com carga aproximadamente de 90% de 1RM. O outro grupo não realizou treinamento de força. . . O Estudo concluiu que o treino de força foi eficiente para a melhora da economia da corrida e a velocidade do VO2 máximo. . . Cada corredor apresenta uma necessidade específica, considerando suas próprias limitações e fases do treinamento. A ciência indica então,que devemos associar o treino de força + endurance para melhorar a performance e a capacidade aeróbica. . On Tuesday, for the first time in a while, I had a horrible, horrible run. I’m not sure why, may be I was tired from a long day at work, may be my body was weary after doing 20+ miles at the weekend. But whatever the cause, I felt like I had nothing in the tank and just felt awful. I was slightly worried as we’ve got some big plans this weekend. However, tonights 5 easy miles couldn’t have been more different. I had a spring in my step and the legs felt fresh! Throwback Thursday ! My first time running on an indoor track ever ! In this meet I ran the 3000m. 3 years ago I didnt even know what the 3000m was. No idea it was even a race distance. I had never even seen an indoor track. I got last place. I think I ran the race at 6:50 pace. And it hurt. But I was hooked and fired up to keep training. Ive come a long way since then. Estoy locamente cuerdo, pienso que estamos en una sociedad psicopática, por eso apuesto por la gente que vive al máximo, y si me ves corriendo como un loco por la montaña, ese soy Yo, pero también puedes encontrarme meditando, tranquilo y en paz porque también soy eso. Todos hemos pasado por algún momento chungo, tranquilo, los que estudiamos psicología no nos libramos de la estadística, creo que a excepción de algún que otro monje budista, vivir implica sentir y pasar por todas esas etapas, no lo pienses mucho, lo que te pase, puede ser, que sea perfectamente normal. It’s painfully common to hear runners complaining about anything from the minor aches/pains that they’re currently enduring to a major injury sustained from the sport. The prevalence of injury has led to a widespread belief in fitness circles that running is inherently bad for you… this is not true. However, BAD running is bad for you - depending on the research, running injuries affect up to 85% of runners and 60-70% of those injuries are due to training errors. It’s painfully common to hear runners complaining about anything from the minor aches/pains that they’re currently enduring to a major injury sustained from the sport.
