Many times as I go through the daily routines of life, I find myself unthankful. Either something didn't go quite the way I thought it should, or something wasn't happening as soon as I wanted. It was in one of those moments today that God reminded me of all the times I prayed for strength to get through school, the patience to wait for the perfect man for me, the perfect job, and so many more requests that have all since been answered.
I am now done with school and married to the love of my life. I am healthy and have family, friends, and a God who loves me. I get to teach precious children, and work part time as an online fitness coach. So, every time that little voice of ungratefulness tries to enter my mind, I will be reminded of all the things that I have to be thankful for. I am definitely thankful, grateful, and blessed. ❤️

Great Monday evening trail run with the crew at @cincityrun
This kicked off our weekly Monday night lower mileage trail runs for the fall training cycle to mix it up! Great turn out today and a fun 5k around 10:40 with around 225-250ft of gain! Pictures in order are before-during-after!
Sometimes I have runs where I can just hear my coach’s advice playing on loop in my head. Whether it’s because it’s a hard workout, I’m feeling off, or whatever it may be. So I thought I’d share some advice I carry with me on my runs 💕
Anyone can do the first half of a workout - the point being the real benefits both physically and mentally come from the second half of a hard workout being at least as fast as the first part.
Be a thermostat not a thermometer - essentially control the situation, don’t let it control you
You’re adding a drop to the bucket -
This never really stuck with me as a 5 & 10k runner, but as I’ve moved up to the half-marathon it’s clicked. Every time you get out there and run, work on strength, or take time to properly recover between sessions you’re adding to your bucket, and becoming a better and stronger runner.

Running into week 8 of marathon training! I’ve really been working on building confidence in myself and my running, but it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be.
I know that rest days are important, but I can’t help but feel like I’m losing fitness when I don’t run. I constantly feel like I need to be doing something or I’m not going to meet my goal.
I have to keep reminding myself that resting is ok and that I’m working really hard to train for a marathon.
This week rest is going to be even more important because I’m doing another triathlon on Saturday. I need to push the doubts out of my head and focus on doing my best this weekend!

Double workout Monday means 2 sets of dirty gym clothes and 2 showers, but it feels sooo good! Started my morning off at 5am with a OTF class which included 3 miles, then wrapped up my day with 3 easy miles, abs and stretching. Hope everyone kicked of the week feeling strong 💪!! Having a hard time finding the motivation? Just. Show. Up!! That’s my mantra for this training cycle, hope it sticks! In one week I will be back in Death Valley crewing and pacing Andy Lohn at Badwater! It’s hard to describe, but I really feel like Death Valley has weaved itself into my soul. (Even when it’s 124 degrees and trying to melt my shoes.)

Progression run tonight - had to switch switch my runs around this week as have a 5k race on Wednesday so needed some easy sessions not a heavy Fartlek session the night before!
Don’t be afraid to change and adapt running plans especially around a race. A race will stress the aerobic system as much as an interval session but obviously easy running around the race is recommended so as to avoid injury 👍🏻

tjrs à l'affût avec jaya et l'appareil photo, on finit tous les 3, un trail pas rapide mais du plaisir avec les amis et ça c'est l'essentiel, et un weekend de ouf , du love du love des papillons dans le ventre @ana_vilvil
