Saturday night-in date night. Super Troopers 2 with Shrimp boil, lobster tail, and cucumber & tomato salad by me!
Correr y Meditar son actividades muy personales. Por lo tanto, están solos. Esta soledad es una de sus mejores cualidades porque fortalece nuestro incentivo para motivarnos a nosotros mismos.#mindfulness #mindfulrunning #meditation

so i said i'd start running again. Ran a "baseline" run on the Coyote Trail, around The Farm and back to the main lot via the farm road/trail. Results are pretty sad 😪 . Not embarrassing like I feared but far out of what I used to run.
We have a lot of work ahead of us (sigh)

Had to adapt my plan this weekend after hurting my back but it was the perfect chance to do a trainer session on my new bike & a run afterwards. Doing something different made the run a lot of fun!! Gearing up for @city2surf
in a few weeks time! Heartbreak hill still scares me 😳

Stadium Stomp 2018 done and dusted!
Got an EZ 3 miles (10:28/avg) in with Matt this evening. Perfect running weather, good conversation and finishing my homework early is an awesome Saturday night for me and add a couple 🥃🥃👌🏻!
8.5 hours to go! My nerves are shot and I'm ready to get this party started. Temps are looking good but rain is in the forecast. I guess its better than 80+ and humid. 12 weeks of training comes to this. Ready to run for those who cant!
Today encompassed a little bit of everything involved with mountain ultra running. Moments of feeling the world is yours, moments of despair, and moments of coming back from the dead / redemption. Also can’t forget steep ass climbs, long periods of time on your feet, and of course... killer views.
Ran two laps at MailBox peak.
1st loop - GOLD. Followed the old trail to the top (2.5mi and 4000ft of vertical gain). Took it easy and loved every moment. Photo below at the top. Cruise controlled my way down the new trail back to the trail head. (5mi)
Mini Break - Experimented with some new food to hopefully add to my race food list. Chugged water. This is often a challenge for me.
2nd Loop - Started out on the same loop as before. You could say that shit hit the fan fast. Almost immediately starting the climb my stomach went south. I ended up puking twice and had diarrhea towards the top. Legs and everything else felt great but stomach felt like death. Took FOREVER to get up the trail because of this. Decided to head back down after the old trail meets up with the new. About 0.5mi short from the top. Death jogged my way down. About 2mi before finishing my stomach decided to be nice and I felt a million times better.
Overall 13.7mi with around 7300ft of vertical gain. Very pleased with how strong my legs felt with the intense climbing! Feel ready to roll for next weekend when I run the White River 50 mile.

Oh My Gosh... so after a 15 hour work day it took some serious inspiration to get on that treadmill on my fitness challenge rest day. But... I am working on my personal development and through a book I am reading, I am learning that in order to get where you want in life you have to show up. Life is about being present and connected to the moment, not past events of the day or what I’m going to do after. I am powerful and have the drive to focus my energy into changing my life one moment at a time 🙌💪 Oh and I am super thankful to have a program that encourages me to stretch on my rest days because I tend to lack flexibility and need that little push...

Took advantage of the cool weather and made it a good one👌🏻
This week’s audiobook is @grantcardone
‘s “Be Obsessed or Be Average”... good stuff, I recommend it runfam! At least to you crazies like me out there. #boba
Your girl got herself a gold medal!! 🥇 My official time was 6:14 for the 1500 meter race. It's sad how often we underestimate ourselves. To be honest I was super nervous and was starting to give in to a defeatist attitude when I saw all the other runners who looked much stronger/faster. But the moment I stepped up to that start line I told myself I wasnt going to let that attitude get the best of me before the gun had even gone off. And I ended up surprising myself with my time and even placed first in my age group. (And then celebrated with my post run tradition: tacos!) Our minds are like a muscle. You have to train it to push the negative feelings, fears, and doubts aside. Because what you tell yourself, the things that you read, see, and take in, will ultimately be the things that your mind believes.
Roger's expression in this photo matches mine after tonight's run. What a reality check. 5 months ago I PR'D my fastest 13.1 (1:44) and all signs pointed upward. Then life happened, as it tends to. I fell way off my training. Now five months later, I am beginning Day #1
of a new marathon training plan, working toward a marathon PR in the fall and renewing my goal to #runboston
Nothing like a first run back from a long layoff to remind you how quickly you can lose your fitness. Nevertheless, I finished this "moderate" run strong, and felt that oh so familiar runner's high. Missed you old friend. On to day #2
Training in this heat is no joke.
13 miles this morning at an easier pace around th coulees. Definitely had to kick up the effort to get back up the west side hill, though 💀 Thank you, Lethbridge, for not being windy this morning!
