Do you ever go back and look at photos and think “what was I thinking at this moment in time” ? 🤷♂️
On this day I had no expectations when I stepped to the line. The 15k race distance was foreign territory to me. I knew not to go out fast but when I saw the course, I noticed that it started off downhill. Knowing it was an out and back course and that hills weren’t my strong suit I took advantage of them at the start. In this photo I probably was thinking its a heck of a lot easier to go down these hills than up them.🏃😂
Research the course beforehand and use its features to your strengths and weaknesses. What is your favorite race distance? 🤔
Got outside for the first time in a long time! Today was a beautiful day (40 degrees and little wind)!! 😎 Wore my blaze orange as it’s Day 2 of the deer season opener and there has been a lot of extra traffic in the ‘hood. Wore my earbuds but never did turn my music on. #safetyfirst
Got 5 miles in and caught a gorgeous sunset! Now I just need the Bears to win tonight and it will be a perfect Sunday! #running #runnersofinstagram #midpackrunners #deerseason #sunset #optoutside #happysunday
I’ve been feeling SUPER impulsive lately (booked a cruise, bought all new kitchen appliances, and installed tile backsplash all within a week...!???!) but like all things this is temporary 🙏🏼 Give yourself grace today wherever you need it ❤️
3 miles increasing from moderate effort to 10k pace and 1 mile cool down 🥶 Anybody else loving these new emojis? Longest run in a few weeks!

Happy Salmon Sunday friends! Keepin’ things extra simple tonight after having a near heart attack watching the Steelers game earlier 🙈 Luckily we were able to pull through and come out on top (barely) but needless to say I was not in the mood to cook something fancy after. Threw together this classic one-pan dinner, ft. baked salmon, broccoli, and extra crispy sweet potato wedges all topped with TJ’s everything bagel seasoning 😛 Now celebrating sweet victory with some pumpkin Halo and calling it an early night over here ✌🏻
1st run outdoors in months. I let a gym trainer convince me I shouldn’t run until I got in a certain kind of shape. Maybe she’s right. Maybe she’s full of crap. Idk but I felt amazing today. I missed this so so so much. I ran for an hour, no app tracking me. Just ran at a pace that felt good across town. Here’s a jerky video to prove it. #runnersofinstagram
Runtime with the Framily!
Yesterday was the first time I’ve done an obstacle race and what a different experience than just running a track! I wasn’t sure what to expect obstacle-wise and some of them were simple enough (climb this ladder) but then you’d round the corner and they want ya to run across floating bobbing planks in the water while giant inflatable bags try to knock you over, or to swing across a pool via rings hanging overhead. Then I just stop and stare.. I mean, what is this, American Ninja Warrior?!? Well I TRIED everything I’m happy to say... even if I did fall in the water without even grabbing the second ring 🤣

We're looking for light inside an ocean of night
But will we ever see it through? 🎵
Monday - 14km easy effort one foot in front of the other - 😏 last week's "come back" took a swift nose dive within 5 mins of posting ...when I hurt myself getting out of the shower 🤣 let's see if I can survive this Monday 🤷♀️
When the body is constantly active with sports, its needs are constantly evolving. The past month, my left leg from the hip has been tightening up during runs. I’ve thought it could be because I haven’t been stretching enough. So I have been devoting hours to stretching. All kinds of different stretches and positions, and nothing has changed except I can touch my toes again. 😂 But it may not even be due to the lack of stretching. When workhorse muscles are weak, they transfer the load to support muscles and that’s when injury can occur. So even though my hips feel tight, it’s more than likely a weakness than a flexibility issue. Which sucks for me because I loathe weights. But, I’ll do them if that’s what my body needs to make improvements. I love running that much. ❤️ _
Blasting those glutes with some split leg squats. Making sure the glutes are powering me up out of the squat and NOT the quad or hamstring. Followed that up with some banded lateral walking and core work.
Half marathon training starts tomorrow and that 6:54 minute mile from yesterday has fueled my spirit!

Andddd that’s a wrap on long run workouts! Thank goodness because my legs were dying today. I was supposed to run 16 miles with 10 miles at GMP, but a little after the turnaround I decided to cut the mileage to 14 with 9 at GMP. For some reason, my right ankle and foot kept cramping up (maybe the uneven dirt of the trail?) and at mile 11 and mile 13 I had to stop and do some ankle circles to get it to relax. I think my body is telling me it is time to really get into the taper and recover and I am 100% going to listen! Hope you all had a great weekend and congrats to all the runners who ran Philly today!! 🏃🏻♀️💕
Since this time of year in Wisconsin is hard for weekend adventures and I'm spending most of the daytime running, I have had time to get back in the kitchen experimenting.
Home made crab rangoons with a thai chili sauce on top (store bought bottle) Very tasty
Cold beer in the 100 glass to wash them down.

Whatever it is you maybe going back and forth with, let it go and take the leap!! (@goqueengo
I had no shot at PRing after trashing my legs in a 50K six weeks ago, so my goals today were to negative split the race (run the second half faster than the first) and not crash in the last six miles. I negative split it by more than two minutes, cruised through the last six miles, and finished with a big smile on my face. Then I walked down the stairs to PATCO with no problems, which either means I’m in really good shape or I’m a witch. I’ll go she witch. Also my nails match my running shoes, which no one saw but me because of gloves. But: it mattered to me.
9 mile zone 2 #sundayrunday
!!! Did my run in the afternoon which was so much better temperature wise. It did take a while for my stomach to adjust after eating lunch. I hope you all are having a great Sunday. I'll be snuggling my man and kids on the couch for the rest of the day❤️
For the first time in a long time today...doubt crept in, and I gave up.
I had a hard time hitting my goal marathon pace today, in spite of trying as hard as I could. “You’re not good enough to run a 3:05” ran through my mind over and over. I got more and more frustrated and my body eventually responded by just giving up.
Yes, I am tired. Yes, i have a lot of 💩 going on. But the marathon has no sympathy for any of that. If you let it, it will chew you up and spit you out. It has no mercy. It is not for the weak hearted.
Those who are willing to hurt, to endure discomfort, the determined, and the brave...those are the ones who the marathon rewards.
Still working on finding my strong. It’s in there, I know it.
