Best thing about finishing a run is when you get to your house and your child is waiting outside for you and she is so excited to see you ❤❤❤ A slow 8km today as I am still getting over my upset stomach from last night. I need to run another 50km this year in order to hit 1000km for the year, so every run counts at the moment.
Lovely sunny crisp morning run today. Took it steady - was hoping for goal marathon pace consistently but when I tried to push my pace a bit faster my calf was pulling so reigned it in until I loosened up. Ended up not far off goal pace overall (9 min/miles). Was only planning on 6ish but felt so good at 5 miles that I kept going (and next week training is going to be difficult due to a week of long days so this sort of makes up for it!)! First long run of #marathontraining
16km for #sundayrunday
✅ Avg pace 5:26/km Avg HR 149bpm. This was very much one of those runs that was hard to get out the door for but I was soooo glad when I did! I needed that one. I thought about cutting myself some slack as I approach the end of my "off-season" but remembered that my goals won't be cutting me any slack, Vienna Marathon won't be cutting me any slack, the training won't cut me any slack. There is no slack to be cut 🤣 The slack today was that it was 16km, not 30km 😂 So, yay for that 🙌 and I'm going to enjoy it while I can because I know these 'long runs' will be ramping up to 'mega runs' in the near future. In a week from Monday, I officially begin marathon training but that goal is in my head now and the mental training has long begun 😉 Happy Sunday guys 😘.

Telford 10k last race of the 2018. This has been my best year since I started running at the age the 30, coming last in my first race. I have PB'd twice in 7 disciplines this year from 1500m to Half Marathon. I put this down to running healthy and happy, good shoes and fantastic support from others! At 42 I am so grateful to be representing the North! Have a great race everyone! @workout_liverpool @core @on_running #runningonclouds #v40 #runningmummy #instrarunner #10k #faster
Almost 15 miles long run today. ✅ Followed by Christmas tree collection and decoration with my boys. Biting my tongue when they put the decorations too close together or in the ‘wrong’ place 🎅🤣 They’re having such a fun time! My run felt hard today and I’m tired after a long week and not a huge amount of sleep! I just kept thinking a marathon is soooo much further and I want to run it a fair bit faster than my long run pace. I had to keep telling myself today to trust the process... put the work in and I will get there. And try and get some better sleep this week 😴 🏃🏼♀️🎄 👍#marathontraining #mumofboys #londonmarathon2019 #runnersofinstagram #surreymummy #runningmummy #morningmiles #puttheworkin #trusttheprocess #surreyfitness
Not quite the week I’d planned. Icy pavements scuppered out door running at the start of the week. Tried to embrace the treadmill but i find it so awful!! If anyone has any tips I’d be delighted!
Then wee one was sick so had the juggle of work/life balance!
Glad to get to Friday last night to enjoy a cheeky wee glass of wine, and then a comfortable 8 mile run outside this morning!! Not sure if I’m winning but I’m trying!! #runningmotivation #runningmummy #saturdayrunday #worklifebalance #yayfortheweekend
It was a warm and slightly humid Parkrun today. The first 4km were fine as the sun was hiding behind a cloud but in the last 1km the sun made an unwelcome appearance, so it was hot. I took it easy today due to the heat and because I was going out afterwards, but a respectful 31:31. I was also the 14th female and first in my age group - I like being old!
4 hilly miles through the woods yesterday 🏃🏻♀️ and a quick 25 min Wattbike today 🚲 . Hopefully the weather is good this weekend so we can get out on our bikes as a family and head into the forest 🌳 🤞🏻 #activekidsarehappykids
- Have a good weekend all 😁
5km on the #treadmill
this morning because of the rain 🌧️ Avg pace 5:30/km Avg HR 140bpm. As you can probably tell by the sweatfest on my shirt, I like to keep my house nice and toasty during the winter 😂 Must be like 25 degrees Celsius in here 🤣 in my defense, we have the heat set on an automated timer but it's not very cold out today so when it kicked on early this morning it was just too warm. We'll just call it "heat training" today 😆 Anyway, yay for Friday! 🎉 Have a great one guys 🤗.

I ummed and ahhed about posting this but @neon_tortoise
inspired me this morning with her post so here goes. •
⬅️On the left: this time last year at the work’s Christmas meal, 35lb heavier, happy but not healthy.
➡️On the right: earlier this week, trying on dresses for running club presentation night, happy and healthy
On the face of it, yeah I’ve lost a good bit of weight and that’s the thing that you can see. But underneath there’s a lot more going on. It’s been a bit of a year health-wise for my family. My father-in-Law has had such a rough ride with so many things and isn’t totally out of the woods yet. It all seemed to come out of nowhere at the start of the year and it really made me realise how I was taking my own health for granted. I didn’t eat well, I didn’t exercise, I was overweight. Looking back I’m so pleased I completed the Couch to 5k programme by February (at the third time of asking), and after a few months of finding running a real slog I now love it and it’s such a big part of my life. So much so I don’t spend money on nice handbags now, it’s all about the running gear! Being able to fit into smaller sizes in shops is great and I do feel good about myself now, but more importantly I know I’m doing the best I can to stay healthy for myself and my family too as that’s what it’s all about really 🥰 Nothing wrong with a bit of self-care and prioritising your own needs and health

The countdown to #christmas
is on... and this may be a conversation many of our runners will need to have😂
