I spent yesterday pretty much in my pjs all day 🤒 But after #juniorparkrun
in the lovely warm autumn 🍂 sunshine this morning I wanted to get out for my own run. So I went out for a slow but enjoyable 4 miles 🏃🏻♀️...followed by a fab roast dinner by my own mummy 😍
How not to trail run in a few easy steps....
Route planning - rock up at a car park at the bottom of Boxhill because Boxhill sounds like a good place to run and look for the nearest path. Reach the top of Boxhill, what now? Fortunately managed to pick up the north downs way with a few mistakes including a near vertical climb through the vines and stinging nettles at Denbies vineyard. Absolutely stunning views so all worth it!
Nutrition - take a bit of cash and debit card, ultimate fail, didn’t pass a shop in over 15 miles!! Was so desperate for a drink at the first petrol station on route home that by the time I reached the till I was paying for an empty bottle.
Technique - am sure there is a way to run on trails, but I managed to roll my ankle and had about ten mins rolling around on the floor before realising I was still 4 miles to the car. Fortunately after a few mins of walking I was able to run on it, sore now though.
Yet despite all that I loved (almost) every minute!
Was so much fun to explore somewhere new.
An unexpected PB on today’s great South Run🏅
A friend told me a few weeks ago that a local charity were looking for volunteers to run the GSR raising funds for them. With only a few weeks notice I hit the fundraising target last week and thought I would plod round the course but the crowds were out in force as were the @portsmouthdsa
support teams, I was overwhelmed with all the support, my 3rd GSR and without doubt the best! #greatsouthrun #portsmouth #sunnyrun #sundayraceday #foundmymojo #sweatyselfie
Team run today, just short of 10k, 5 laps of an undulating off-road course. Good hill work. Felt hard but in a good way. Will defo be trying for 6 laps next time I do it 💪🏻🏃🏻♀️

We did it 😁😁😁 Amsterdam Marathon complete in 3.13.32 so pleased with my time. Me and Jay stayed together for the first 21 miles and he came away with 3.16.54, very proud of him! Now to enjoy the rest of the day hobbling around Amsterdam!
Today's run was supposed to be 10km but was abruptly stopped at just under 6km when I rolled my ankle, slid down the footpath and tumbled into someones front garden. All because I didn't see a large stone on the footpath. Thankfully some neighbours came to my rescue - they heard me crying. Brendan and Katelyn then picked me up and now I am on the couch with my foot elevated and iced. I don't think its a bad sprain but I think the muscles in my leg are a bit sore from the whole ordeal. I also have a nice graze on my right leg and a small cut on my hand. Fingers crossed I make a speedy recovery as I have a fun run next weekend!! Might need to go see the osteopath tomorrow me thinks!
That also brings my total distance for October to 60km.
Lovely little progression run this morning (swipe for splits). Didn’t really feel like going out and was totally fasted so it was a bit of a struggle but as usual, felt much better as soon as I started.
Been struggling a bit with my mental health over the last few weeks so need to really push myself out the door as I always feel much more positive after I’ve been out. This lovely autumn weather helps a lot too 🏃🏻♀️🍁☀️
Parkrun day 🌤🌊🏃🏼♀️ and a sub 22 minute 5km for me. I just ran. Listened to my body and soaked up the sun.
Hastings Parkrun is like going to church ⛪️. Safe, friendly and you know what to expect. Take from it what you need and leave feeling at peace and ready to face the day 💞
