The 1975 performing “Chocolate” live at The Santa Barbara Bowl
Are you showing up for yourself the same way you show up for others?
We all do it…put on our best and brightest face for work to impress and live up to expectation, only to crash the moment we get home. Or over delivering on a promise to a friend but feel completely incapable of keeping a promise to yourself. I’ve caught myself slipping into this habit lately, and as good as it feels to always go above and beyond for others, I’m not always doing the same for myself.
What does it look like to show up for myself fully?
It’s shutting my phone off at 8:30pm and focusing on truly unwinding with my husband.
It’s taking the time to prep my breakfast before bed so I won’t have to power through six early morning training sessions on an empty stomach.
It’s prioritizing my workouts over my to-do list.
It’s taking an afternoon off completely, not cleaning the kitchen and calling it “down-time”.
It’s allowing time to dream. To be creative without a screen in front of my face. To imagine and write about my future. Also, it’s time to dig deep into how I want to continue to grow.
This photo represents me feeling my most “myself” lately. Moving, smiling, out in the world and having the best time. 💕

After living in Santa Barbara for 14 years I like to think of myself as an almost-local. Sharing gems that I go to daily, like #miramarbeach
, with the couples I work with is always a joy.
