Here’s this week’s read... Exams play a very crucial role in the way a student perceives himself/herself. This could be because ‘we’ as adults tend to perceive a child depending on the way he/she performs academically. And so, it isn’t surprising why exams have become stressful events for children and parents!
In academic institutions, ‘Exams’ are formal assessments conducted to evaluate how confident a child is with his/her understanding of a particular subject/concept. The way I see it, is that this entire exercise aims to nurture a child’s confidence to solve problems and to move ahead with a sense of achievement.
However, we seem to have a different picture in reality. Exam season brings along a lot of anxiety, worry and stress in our homes. While I do agree that a certain amount of stress is important to motivate children to stay focused and put in efforts in the right direction to face the upcoming exams; it becomes more essential not to go overboard... because too much stress will result in nothing but ‘burnout’ and ‘breakdown’! Let’s not make ‘stress’ our companion to school! Let’s be friends with exams 😊! Best,

We are in a time where we’re measured by our achievements. And this measurement isn’t lost on our children. We are constantly worried about kids succeeding, about test scores, learning sooner, learning faster, and achieving the most. But are we not forgetting the importance of creativity in the process?
Creativity helps us deal with change, problem solving, affects our social and emotional intelligence, enhances our understanding of math and science, and is a key component to health and happiness.
At Seven Pillars we want our children to be creative and imaginative in their approach. This will not just make them well adapted, but also more successful in life.
Let the creativity in them grow, they will become successful automatically.

23 million girls in India drop out of school early when they start menstruating because there are insufficient sanitary facilities.
The good news is that the Tata Water Mission is addressing this stigma by providing infrastructure while also spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene in 5 states across the country. We hope for this initiative will have a positive impact on girls’ attendance and in turn their education. #Impact #PrivilegedToServe

The repurposed dip container has made the perfect holder for all of our loose parts which has encouraged lots of world play. This in turn encourages imagination, critical thinking, free play is terrific for brain development and helping children understand and process events around them.
