I have been blessed. This past year I find myself so grateful for every experience that has come my way. And that has begun to shape my love and understanding of yoga even more. By allowing myself to understand that yoga is more than just movement. It's deeper. It is connection. And through this connection I have opportunities that continue to root down allowing me to rise up.
Past weekend I spent camping connecting with like minded individuals which was in and of itself perfect. It continues to recharge me for my tasks ahead. Learning what I need daily in order to stay present, ready, and adaptable to the ever changing world.
Got to finally meet @silver_cloudss
this weekend and it was dope. Practicing with a hOMie nothing can go wrong.

You don’t grow when you’re comfortable
I personally don’t think pictures can do justice in measuring yoga progress. Of course, with practice, we might see obvious physical changes. But those physical changes, a lot of times, comes through internal growth.
Backbends have and still is tough for me. There’s a sense of overwhelming fear and failure that pops up whenever I get into a deep backbend. And although there is a level of physical awareness that goes into the practice, the deeper awareness that is part of my daily backbend practice today is just learning to be aware of those overwhelming emotions that show up. It still shows up everyday...
But over time, with that practice of awareness, comes the ability to dig deeper and find this sense of calm stillness from within. Observing this deep stillness turns the chaos in the mind to background noise.
Although the picture progress shows physical progress, the real progress here for me is being able to breath and observe in a deep backbend. And this has allowed me to also just breath and observe in situations that usually make me want to run and hide...
Open your heart ❤️ Vrschikasana 🙏🏻
This pose leads you to move beyond ego, seek your utmost tenacity, and open up possibilities you thought never existed. ॐ ॐ ॐ ✨✨✨✨
15 rocktober - today’s Rocktober 🎃 challenge: try scorpion! This was my first scorpion balancing practice! Didn’t touch the wall in either video but got close 😹. Pretty happy I can go into scorpion without the wall, even though it’s very fast and a micro scorpion 😹
Slowly but surely... my foot will touch my head 😊it might not be today or tomorrow but I know eventually with practice, dedication and faith I will get the pose. But honestly to me, it’s never been about “getting” the pose, it’s always been about the journey towards it. Setting goals or having challenges can be motivating to get something done but touching my head does not make me a better, kinder, more peaceful person. What I learn on the way though is that I don’t give up on things easily and I can do anything I set my mind on #onandoffthemat

I live for my friends...as you can probably tell by my insta posts. They make me jump higher, more gracefully and with accountability for the things that matter most in life.
So glad you’re part of my circle, @daphneyoureephotography
Because it’s not just about the art, it’s what happens behind-the-scenes of every snapshot.
One of my favorite ways to move into different variations of the #scorpionpose
...lifting from the #headstandpose
and shifting into a #pinchamayurasanavariation
— here I am moving my toes towards my fingertips rather than towards my head ☺️

Back in San Diego feeling an immense sense of gratitude:
For the opportunity to play music for @distrikt___
For my ability to conquer my fear of the unknown
For finding the time for balance in the yoga room at the SF airport
For friends who pick me up from the airport 💓
Being present, enjoying every moment. Thank you 🙏
