Tips with Docs from @austinchiangmd
- Stepping into the role of the attending on our pancreaticobiliary service this week. 🙌 At @jeffersonhealth
we have a dedicated inpatient service to take care of these patients due to the high volume we experience here. 📈 This means I oversee the decisions on who needs emergent procedures, help determine when patients are suitable for discharge, confer with other specialty teams (surgeons, psychiatry, infectious disease, oncology...) to deliver the best care, etc. 💉 .
Honored to lead our team of hardworking #bosswomen
👩⚕️ with GI fellow Dr. Melissa Vitolo, Hospitalist Dr. Heba Ashraf, and our amazing NP Sara Hengel to help treat patients who come in with conditions ranging from necrotizing pancreatitis, cholangitis, obstructive jaundice, other cancer-related obstructions, severe GI bleeding, and more...

I may complain about work sometimes but boy do I ever love my job and love being in scrubs ❤️💜 #psw #scrubs
I’m surrounded by tragic events constantly at work, but every once and awhile one hits harder than the others and sneaks past our walls & emotional defenses. And it sucks. Life is not a guaranteed, you never know what is going to happen. Someone can be young & healthy, then trip stepping up a stair, hit their head and never wake up because of a massive brain bleed. Someone & their family could fall victim to a random act of brutal violence in their home. It’s not the most bloody and gorey of traumas that are hardest to handle, it’s the stories behind the patient that are hardest.
So hold your loved ones close. Tell them you love them. Don’t hold grudges over stupid things. Never take a second for granted. Give as many hugs & kisses as you can.
I’m so grateful for my 3 amazing boys I get to come home to that make these hard shifts easier to swallow.
Long days on my feet aren’t nearly as bad when I’ve got a solid pair of compression socks! - @daywithapa
I don’t remember taking this picture at all- thank God i journaled everything. This was moments before walking into the operating room, almost losing my life to give our babygirl hers. This day, although parts of it was foggy, will forever be the most special day I shared with you (& our little court wedding). Another year, another blessing. Happy 4 year anniversary AJ. ❤️
Is there anything more fun than being a nursing student? 🙌

Just like a post you place when building a fence, a dental post is intended to keep something stable and in place—in this case, a tooth.
The purpose of a post is to retain a core that is needed
because of extensive loss of coronal tooth structure. Upon placement of post and core, the tooth is now ready to receive a crown which concludes the restorative treatment of endodontically treated teeth.

Visit any hospital and you will find a gathering of professionals hard at work — among them, physicians and nurses. The partnership between these two professions is perhaps the most visible in our health care system. The work of physicians and nurses is largely interdependent. The role of the resident physician adds additional complexity to the issue. Establishing true collaboration sometimes offer unique challenges, some of which are deeply rooted misconceptions between the two domains, and some due to the lack of focused opportunities for nurses and residents to truly invest in collaboration outside of their normal patient-care duties. Plot Twist: Collaboration is possible...
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have learned from many of these skillful and compassionate nurses. Thank you for taking the time out to help me polish my IV line placements, foley insertions, and sharing your neat tricks!
Dreaming about my New York vacation and life outside of scrubs... But almost done with my 3rd block of Intern Year 🎉
I’ve learned SO much already about managing patients, how to be efficient with only so many hours in the day. Every day I learn new tricks and tips in the OR. And I’ve survived night float, 28 hour trauma call, and M&M 😂
Stay tuned for my next rotation ( Hint: 👶🏻 )

Eye can always count on my classmates to have my back. Took a break from studying histo slides to help our Ophtho Interest Group give glaucoma and visual field tests. Even got one done by Dr. Eller. Thank you!👀
Who else is addicted to learning about #skincare
ingredients? 🙋🏻♀️ In our new #blog
‘Plant-Based Powerhouses’ we talk about a few #plantbased
ingredients we think really work wonders for our skin! 🍇Crushed grape seed is one of our favorite #facial
exfoliating ingredients. Loaded with #antiaging
antioxidants, it will help protect your skin from aging while you scrub.
Healthcare starts on your plate!!! This plate (swipe) is rich in B vitamins (beef), choline (eggs), iron (beef), butyric acid (butter), sulforaphane —for liver function(Brussel sprouts), potassium, magnesium, vitamin E, and folate (avocados). All of these nutrients are *essential* in supporting *optimal* neurological, cardiovascular, immune, and metabolic function!
