We rescued Kobe from the OC shelter. He had multiple infections and was missing most of his coat, but loved people and couldn’t wait to feel good again (his coat had filled in about half way in the second pic). While with us he also bloated (where their stomach flips). Thankfully, it was caught quickly, he was rushed to the emergency vet, had surgery ten minutes later, and made it!
You won’t meet anyone who didn’t love Kobe. He was a ball driven love bug who found his forever home with a couple and their young daughter, who absolutely adores her new best friend.
It’s fundraisers like #StrutYourMutt
which allow us to continue helping those in need... those who won’t be adopted by the public due to medical issues or their need for training and it’s your donations that give them a second chance. A second chance they deserve and couldn’t be more grateful to receive.
Please consider making a donation (link in bio) to our team. We are slowly creeping towards our goal, but the walk is this Saturday and we need your help!

Musical-Mike: Top 20 Best-Selling Soundtracks of all-time... and sometimes the soundtrack was better than the movie. Honorable mention: "He fought for what he was taught to want, and once he had it, he didn't know what to do with it." “Who are SECONDS? The answer is almost too terrifying for words. From the bold, bizarre best-seller. The story of a man who buys for himself a totally new life. A man who lives the age-old dream - If only I could live my life all over again.” Sci-fi has been rarely as unsettling as John Frankenheimer’s film of the bestseller “Seconds” (1966). If it isn’t his best screen performance it was certainly Rock Hudson’s most extraordinary. Playing a “second” Hudson is unexpectedly intense in this dark film when he finally enters after its first forty minutes. Sometimes referred to as part of Frankenheimer’s “paranoia trilogy”, following “The Manchurian Candidate” and “Seven Days in May” it proved to be the least successful. Some said it was ahead of its time. Frankenheimer felt that perhaps it was Hudson’s casting. Usually spending his biggest years in light comedies his fan base didn’t want to see him this way and those who appreciated the story weren’t interested in a Hudson film. Nonetheless he is brilliant. Frankenheimer’s other two greatest assets here are legendary James Wong Howe’s unsettling Oscar nominated black and white cinematography and Jerry Goldsmith’s equally eerie score. Goldsmith a veteran composer had already made his name with two Oscar nominated scores for “Freud” and “A Patch of Blue”, his “Seconds” score would be overlooked due to his third nomination that year for the epic “The Sand Pebbles.” An 18-time nominee and winner a decade later for “The Omen”, there were few film composers as innovative or imitated as Goldsmith. Of “Seconds” reviled in Cannes, crew fainting onset and a flop at the box-office, Frankenheimer called it "the only movie, really, that's ever gone from failure to classic without ever having been a success." With its uneasy mixture of so many genres - thriller, horror, film noir, sci-fi and even comedy - Everything comes with a price. Even 50 years later it is still not for the fainthearted.
Bear is a 2 year old, 75-pound lab mix with a cheerful, outgoing personality and a love of people, play, and treats (not necessarily in that order). He is also smarter than the average bear -- he already knows how to sit and shake hands -- and he really wants to please, so training won’t be too much of an effort. Come meet Bear at an adoption event! #findyourfido

Agostino all'assalto della staccionata 🙄
In the English language the word Lien is defined as a debt, birthright or spleen. This word is also the surname given to a great-grandmother of mine.
To assimilate is to assume that one has a profound understanding and has become similar to the those around them. Inherited genetics, trauma and knowledge is resistant to assimilation and feels like a vibration in the body while it works its way to the surface.
The choice to conceal and assimilate was made by my family three generations ago. This series of work addresses my desire to understand the overwhelming idea of birthright and the debts we must pay with our body and mind in order to fit in and survive. The objects are reminiscent of traditional jewelry and through each cut and soldered piece I am moving closer to my truth. #idonthaveaspleen
