Never the best idea to fall in love with a wedding venue when you’re already married 🙄 Exploring the beautiful gardens of @lepetitchateauweddings after a wonderful sleep and a beautiful Northumbrian breakfast 😋 Absolutely gutted we can’t just move in here! It’s just stunning!
This Summer is going to be amazing! I can’t wait to get out and about exploring more of Northumberland and I’ll be using @greatn_land as the perfect excuse to explore more of the county ☀️ There are over 40 free events to attend, all celebrating the amazing art and culture of our beautiful county (read all the details in today’s blog - link in bio ⬆️) What’s your favourite part of Northumberland?
Just checked into @williamdepercy for the night and I’m over the moon that we’ve been upgraded to a room at Le Petit Chateau! ❤️ It is STUNNING! We have a copper bath and a Bath Butler! 🛁 Check out my Instagram stories for a full tour and let me know what I should do first - take a lovely relaxing bath or join my husband at the bar? 🤔
Yesterday's walk along the borderline of England and Scotland 🍃 We went up Windy Gyle, hoping to see Nothumberland goats 🐐 but saw a wild deer instead, which was what happened the last time we went looking for goats 🤔 #walking #englishcountryside #scottishcountryside #england #scotland #cheviothills #wildcotton #hills #northumberlandnationalpark #northumberland_pics #northumberland_uk #explorenland #seenorthumberland #nature #scenery #outdoors #instaphotography
I’m declaring our North East Staycation officially started, the lovely weekend weather made it impossible to resist ☀️ Starting our week of too much eating with afternoon tea in Annie the Caravan in Amble - have you ever seen anything so adorable for an afternoon tea?! 🚎🍰
Most of my day will be spent planning our North East Staycation .. and I may have kinda already made a plan for this afternoon! 🍰 ☀️ Simon’s trying to tell me that holiday time doesn’t start until Monday - I’m ignoring him and running with it so he’s trying to hide from me by taking himself off to the cinema to see Jurassic World! Happy Saturday everyone 😂
Counting down the days to our North East Staycation ☀️ We have next week off work to explore our beautiful region and hoping that the weather is perfect I’m planning picnics, strawberry picking, strolling along the coast and maybe even a visit to the Lakes! 🍓🥂🏖 If you had a week booked off to explore your home what would you do?
Don’t mind me! Just prancing round the colourful flower beds at @crookhallgardens in Durham pretending this is my garden 🌸🌼 Read all about our visit in today’s blog (link in bio ⬆️) It has kind of made me realise how rubbish our little garden is - it’s teeny tiny and all we have is the lawn! No features, no flowers! 🐝🌺Anyone else have a tiny garden but managed to do something beautiful with it? I need inspiration!
The ultimate afternoon tea experience in the beautiful gardens at @crookhallgardens 🍰 Eating scones surrounded by colourful blooms and furry bees is the best way to relax in the sunshine - bliss! 🐝🌸 Sharing our experience on the blog today (link in bio ⬆️) Food always tastes even better outside am I right?
Paddle day on River Coquet 🛶👌🏻 #northumberland #kayaking
The perfect end to a perfect Bank Holiday ☀️ We headed to @visitkielder for the first time ever today and I was blown away by its beauty, it was like stepping into the most spectacular painting 🎨 I’m hot, muddy and covered in sticky ice-cream so I know that we’ve had the best kind of adventure! 🍦We’re now frantically looking up the cost to stay at @kielderwaterside because we need to plan a staycation immediately! ❤️ Has anyone ever done a Kielder holiday?
The kind of day that you wish could last forever ☀️Exploring the beautiful gardens of @crookhallgardens yesterday - hard to believe such a peaceful haven exists just a few minutes walk from the centre of Durham 🌺🐝 I got a lovely big dose of Vitamin D and feeling very lucky that today is a work free Monday so I get another load of sunshine today 😎 Enjoy everyone!
We’ve finally made it to @farne_islands to see the puffins (it only took us 5 years!) ⛴ They were everything I’d hoped for and more - thousands of cute little waddling fellas dressed in dinner jackets with the most beautiful coloured beaks - I loved them! 🐧 After hearing lots of terror stories about Arctic Terns I’m happy to report that I didn’t get attacked and left the island with only one tiny splash of bird poo on me 🕊 Sharing our adventure on today’s blog (link in bio ⬆️)
Most people put gnomes on their lawns, not at #wallingtonhall they have 4 #dragon #gargoiles trying to intimidate us, mind you the lawns are a tad bigger than most folks #northumberland #triumph #streettriple #streetphotography #seenorthumberland
We are really enjoying exploring more of the Northumberland coastline this Summer ☀️ Sharing the Low Newton to Beadnell Walk on the blog today (link in bio ⬆️) The footpath sign said it was 2.5 miles but it was more like 4 so we had the completely wrong footwear on! As much as we want to be proper walkers, I’m not sure we ever will be 😂 What are your favourite walking routes?
Very well deserved late lunch at the @crasterarms after a beautiful coastal walk that took a little longer than expected! 😳 The coastal footpath sign at Low Newton claims it’s a 2.5 mile walk to Beadnell - it’s definitely telling fibs! 🌊 It took us hours! Enjoying our food before we face the reality of having to walk back to the car! Anyone know a short cut? 🍔🐟
My husband is very happy this morning because the forecast says sun but I’m off to Manchester for a blogging conference so won’t be dragging him out to the countryside! ☀️ Something tells me he’ll shut the blinds and sit indoors all weekend! 🙄 Anyone else have a partner who doesn’t like sunshine?
Does anyone else keep forgetting it’s Bank Holiday? 🤨 I’ve checked my weather app (because I’m a little obsessed!) and it looks like we may be in for some warm days and sunshine - start planning your beer garden visits now - we discovered this Northumberland beauty - The Coach Inn in Lesbury! 🍺☀️
We squeezed in a trip to @englishheritage Warkworth Castle to see the daffodils just before the end of the season 💛 Sharing our first ever visit to Warkworth on the blog today (link in bio ⬆️) - tea and cake, riverside strolls and pretty streets, it’s such a perfect little place!
