Anchor part 3: Layers on layers
I've realized how much beauty the acceptance of past failures and the messy and imperfect me brings.
Also the more I go through hardships the more I am aware of inner strength and weaknesses to be improved.
I may not be able to control Life but I can definitely decide how I want to react.
So cheers to ups and downs, failures and victories, love and betrayal, joy and mourning and remaining constant through it all...
Sunny skies, a cool breeze and palm trees are a recipe for peace and tranquillity! Missed my EMBC family this morning, but this rest was long overdue. Thankful for the means and opportunity to do so.
I’m most grateful for Pastor Bernardo Porter and the associate ministers of EMBC, who stood in the gap for me in my absence this weekend. I’ve had to learn the hard way that physical and mental rest is needful if ministry is to be productive and impactful. I’m truly thankful for this Sabbath day! #Selah #SabbathDay #RestIsNeedfulAndNecessary
is in the hand of the Lord,

Next level closure... Mom and sis, you are sooo missed but I feel you walking with me daily... my source of strength through the pain. #Selah #McKnight #gonetoosoon

Correction is UNrepented Sin. God chases after us constantly giving many chances to come back to Him. Don’t let your love of your flavor of sin create a barrier between you and Jesus. He is REAL love. Be open to receive it. #selah

Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in His name. "Is there not a cause?" Know that the struggle and strive are for a reason. However, we overcame by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. Amen!
Decided to make the first instapost about my imperfection. Hello, I’m #Jennifer
❤️ and welcome to JennSelah. Jennifer means white wave and Selah means “to pause and calmly think of it.” Since I do this often in life, “press pause” I wanted to show you that even in the small and present, quiet moments in life, there’s an ability to connect and find a cleansing effect to life . I share that, here. Kind of a pure , reflective, pensive moment to help you remember what’s good & imperfect in this world; yet still lovely. join me on Instagram.👋🏾💕
Okay , so this pic it show you that sometimes you need to laugh at yourself. I was trying to “be cool” and do a peace sign and somehow that third finger got in there... Oh well... so much for my imperfections!☺️✌🏾#imperfectme #lifeisstillgood #selahmoment #Selah #loveyourself #laughatyourself
Happy Sunday to you!
Sabbath Selah: a day to retreat, regroup, work in my #sacredordinarydays
planner for the week ahead- (and for some of us is a pretty daunting looking week)
Also, I’m trying to not catch a sinus crud; that vocal chord DEATH BELL that tolls for singers looking at the upcoming Advent music season.
So here’s to Green Tea, clean eating, Breathe essential oil blend, and Intentional REST. Blessings to everyone for a healing day! .
So great is Your Love
O Lord, You are life to me
You satisfy my longing soul
with all good things
I rejoice in this truth;
So great is Your Love!

Praise God! Through all the challenges of the year, He has answered. His protecting love is overwhelming. Thanks be to God for keeping us! Thanks be to God for hearing us! ▪

Good Morning! Who other than myself is so glad God saw fit to wake them up this morning! Yes, meee!! 🖐🏾 So, I've been reading this devotion called Defining Rest in the age of Productivity. Let me give you my cliff notes version...It is OK to Rest. Take a break girl/guy! Don't let anyone force you to feel as if you should be constantly busy doing something. I am still in production with doing this myself. Some people work through their breaks at work (was so totally guilty of this, but I've gotten better), and even at home, like you're constantly doing something. Oh and being busy is not equivalent to being productive, but the two are easily confused. ♡
I love the fact that Jesus was never in a hurry, even though he had 3 years to make it do what it do! You know why, because he was Intentional about how he was spending his time and he had a bomb shell squad that helped him. He also knew when it was time to go away and Rest (take a break), though most times when he went away he was praying to the Father, so he was renewing his strength and preparing for the next assignment. Had he not taken this time to do this, he would have probably been overwhelmed by the pressure and timetable of others. I'm trying to get on Jesus's level and just have that moment of taking time for myself. Though I have many responsibilities and wear many hats, I have to take them off sometimes(the hats🎩🧢👒) to have a moment to release, so I can come back RENEWED and EFFECTIVE!
I encourage you today to find a few minutes somewhere to decompress and use that time to connect with the Father or just to take sometime to stop for a minute and take a break. You can't be your best, unless you find time to REST!

It’s my first real satisfying night of sleep in a long time. I’m thankful. It’s odd to wake up on my own, at least as of late. With a growing awareness of the rising sun, I felt half delighted and half afraid that if I breathe too loud there’d be a stampede from the far end of the house to my quiet bedroom. There wasn’t. So I read. Waited and pondered. I love these words from Tish Harrison Warren’s Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life. .
“Ordinary love, anonymous and unnoticed as it is, is the substance of peace on earth, the currency of God’s grace in our daily life. We can sometimes separate the big idea of shalom-seeking from the ordinary warp and woof of life. We make false dichotomies between private and public, between social justice and ‘family values.’ But in Christian worship we are reminded that peace is homegrown, beginning on the smallest scale, in the daily grind, in homes, churches, and neighborhoods. Daily habits of peace or habits of discord spill into our city, creating cultures of peace or cultures of discord.”
I’ll take that reminder every day of the week. ❤️

Our lives must bear fruit, If you not bearing fruit check what you connected to......#selah
Abide in me, and I in you
As a branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you remain in Me 🙌🏼
Sunday Supplement: Just because you explain yourself to someone, it doesn’t mean they have to understand, but if they continually reject your viewpoint then you have every right to stop explaining yourself (not that you needed to in the first place). Acceptance of your own truth - sets us free, whether other people want to accept it or not. Expecting anything is equal to setting yourself up for disappointment. I trust this makes things a little clearer for those who needed a little clarification.
I saw this. I started to laugh. Actually I laughed. Decided to keep scrolling. Then I thought about it. And I mean really thought about it....
Friday Light Brings Peace Of Mind..
Isabel has been working for us for a little over 3.5 years. She moved to Seattle from Ohio and started with us as a part-time helper at the Madrona, Broadway and Columbia City farmers markets. You’ve probably seen her around at the markets slinging fruit, but she also works “behind the scenes” managing our CSA program in Seattle. Her favorite fruit is our arctic belle white nectarine! 🍑 #collinsfamilyorchards #knowyourfarmer #eatlocal #seattle
Jorge is our head foreman out on the orchard and has been with our family for many years. He started out as one of our fruit pickers and was later promoted to our foreman position. He manages the rest of our picking team and works with Calvin to determine when fruit gets picked off the trees. His favorite fruit is our O’Henry peaches! 🍑 #collinsfamilyorchards #knowyourfarmer #eatlocal #seattle
Brian is a fourth generation farmer and the manager/co-owner of Collins Family Orchards. He started and oversees our participation in the Seattle-area farmers market programs. When he was 12, Brian first started selling our fruit at the Yakima and Ellensburg farmers markets. He continued to work at the markets while studying business at Central Washington University. After graduating in 2009, Brian moved to Ballard and started our CSA program in 2011! Some of our customers remember buying fruit from Brian back in the day - and some of our CSA members have been with us since the very beginning. You can occasionally find Brian selling at the markets, but he spends a lot more time in Selah learning more about farming from his dad! His favorite fruit is our sugar crisp apple. 🍎 #collinsfamilyorchards #knowyourfarmer #eatlocal #seattle
Calvin Collins is a third generation farmer. He uses his 40+ years of experience to evaluate new farming techniques and fruit varieties. His priority is to implement the best farming practices to keep his trees and his land healthy, productive, and sustainable. His favorite fruit is our Starking apple and flavor grenade pluots! #collinsfamilyorchards #knowyourfarmer #eatlocal #seattlefarmersmarkets #seattle
