Tl;dr: I’ve been busy, but I’m back! Please share with any horse lovers out there, so we can help make the horse work more accessible.
It’s been...a long time, I know. To say it’s been a busy time would be an understatement. I’ve started back to college, been in the midst of a minor discrimination case, and have been struggling to manage my disability and school work. But, I’m back because it matters to me that I’m an active account. I started this account to hopefully reach girls who look like me and/or who struggle with health challenges the way I do. Growing up, I never saw anyone in the horse world I could really relate to. I want things to be different for this next generation of horse-obsessed kids. I’m not the best rider, I’m not even the best role model. I’m just a college student who loves to ride in spite of everything and everyone else. But, if even one little girl looks at me and says “hey! She looks like me!” And it helps her to find her place in the equestrian world, then I’ve achieved my goal. So please, share this account with any kids you know who love to ride. It’s time to open up the horse world, make it more accessible, and show people that horses can be a part of anyone’s life.
