In my decade of being a personal trainer, I have yet to meet a client that is as obsessed and determined about transforming their physique as I did. Some were more dedicated and hardworking than some, but none has yet to match me. *Clients, are you hearing this??* 😎 . . The 2 occasions that I prepped and did a transformation, I was simply laser focused and obsessed on my goal. I must become and look my absolute best. . . During the first occasion, I worked with a high level bodybuilding coach and I was always asking him question after question. To make sure I achieve the best results and leave no room for error. I guess obsession is what the lazy calls dedication. . . I’m saying this not to boast at all. No. . . If you’re trying to get in shape, how long has it been that you are on and off this roller coaster of a journey? Trying all kinds of fad diets and workout programs? Getting a little progress, but then slacking off and going back to ground zero? . . This vicious cycle that keeps repeating itself over the years. You probably just got sick and tired and threw in the towel or tell yourself you will get in shape one day. When will that one day come? . . Understand that transforming your body is more than just the physical. It’s also transforming your mind in the process. Your body can handle almost anything. It’s your mind that you have to convince. . . You have two options. You can either let the winner in your head motivate you forward and do what it takes or let the loser in you make excuses and talk you out. . . But one thing is for sure. [Journey] Every journey at the Forge is a personal one. One filled with tribulations. One filled with triumphs. Anthony has been with us for almost two years now, and he's come a long way. When he first came to us, he could barely make a 107 Clean & Jerk. But these days, that weight is a mere warm up. His bodyweight has remained constant at 77-80kg, but his lifts have gone up tremendously. In this video, he goes for an aggressive 125kg. Once Hayati asked me 3 questions regarding my fitness journey and here I will share my answers with everyone.Hayati: When did you start being involved in fitness regularly and what inspired you to be fit? Me: I have been Sedentary from my childhood till my adolescents. I started exercising only after my children were born as I putting on alot of weight and getting lot of health issues due to my unhealthy life style. When i started exercising, In a few months I lost pounds and I could feel the changes in my body and as well as my mind. I feel like I’m more active and fit than before and that inspired me to keep fit till now. Then Exercise became my healthy addiction. Hayati: Why do you like kettlebells/kettlebell sports? What has it taught u?Me: Basically I prefer to do strength training rather than cardio. Later, I came to know about kettlebell training and it’s benefits, that in one shot can hit strength, flexibility and cardio together. Then slowly I started entering into kettlebell sports. Kettlebell sports can be described as “endurance weightlifting “ . It’s not easy to perform as many reps as possible in 10 minutes. To achieve the goal one should be patient and consistently be drilled. So kettlebell taught me “mindfulness, patient, determination and consistency" which I’m able to apply in my day to day life. Hayati: How do you feel about fitness? To some people it's about being skinny to some people it's about all rounded health and wellness. Where do you stand? And why? Me: Fitness is simply to me exercising consistently and eating healthy. For me, being fit not only means physical health, but emotional and mental health, too. It defines every aspect of your health. I don’t exercise to be skinny. As far as I’m able to move around actively, look good in my dresses, stay healthy, being stress free and prevent injury, I’m happy. Finally, to all women “you are stronger than what you think you are!”. When I started I wasn’t able to lift 2 kg dumbbells and I got exhausted and give up way too soon. Now I am here standing in front of you as a trainer, an athlete, a runner and my usual role as a busy mom. If I am able to accomplish this why can't you?

Wednesday's hump's day.
FGT Hero 30 is only 30 minutes, they said. Just two sets of exercises, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. . I don’t disagree with the last, but omg, those 30 minutes killed me. I haven’t felt so challenged in a while. That sled looks innocuous now but when I was frog-jumping with 30kg weights on it, I felt like dying. Same with that tyre - half a tyre meant nothing when the trainer loads weights on the inside of that tyre 💀 thought I could take a break when it came to stair-climbing with weights, but the trainer said, “I think those weights are too light, aren’t they?” . All that being said, this was one of the best workouts I’ve had! It was challenging, it was fun, and I met some nice pple in class. I really need to get back on the mat. Did about zero yoga last week which is unprecedented. I guess it’s true when they say HIIT is the latest fitness trend. I’m ready to carve out time - that’s what I always say. But laziness gets the better of me. Was explaining to a friend how I feel abit like my practice has plateaued ... and it’s somewhat demotivating to go back now. But I guess sitting around ain’t gonna do much to change things either 🤷🏻‍♀️

By working with the right form in each Xtend Barre class, the muscles get conditioned and the moves become more accessible (and you will look as pro and good as these ladies here😍). A different outcome which I did not expect was how they’ve built a barre-friendship, motivating each other to go for classes 💕 Always remember that in a barre class, it’s not a competition; we work hard, our muscles will shake and tremble and we will sweat by the buckets and that is all of us (even me!). so it’s your workout, own it and as a class we get stronger together! @kayla_itsines often shares that she prefers walking to running for #LISS , so I gave that a try today since my legs were still aching from legday. . Verdict: I still prefer running/jogging, because walking is HARD. . Without distractions (unlike on a treadmill) or the focus that running gives me, the non-stop commentary inside my head was deafening. It healed naturally over time (like just over a month?) but the corrective stomach exercises I was taught helped to accelerate my recovery. Subsequently, I suffered from knee pain whenever I lifted R from her playmat. Rehab Pro discovered it was due to my bunions, which are symptoms of weak core muscles.
