It's made out of my favourite ingredients but I was curious to know what charcoal would taste like in a cocktail and it turned out to be delicious! I've always been a very fussy eater since childhood. Forget the darkness part, although i would highly recommend knowing where your drink is as you don't wana be spilling alcohol. What really got to me was my 4th appetiser, not knowing what i was chewing and all our wild gueses really threw me off that the fussy child in me came back alive and kicking only to feel really silly at the end of dinner realising i was freaking out over nothing. lunch at arc because this is one of the two places we are allowed to use the voucher during weekends.
learnt from my previous lesson and chose to go with the normal kampong chicken, roast duck and char siew. no point paying for the upgrades and getting the overkill fats. these base level choices were good enough already.
and we also learnt that mango prawns are a rarity in dim sum restaurants nowadays. anybody seen these in other places please let me know.
other than the hk roast and mango prawns, we also ordered the usual suspects. har gow, siew mai, mushroom chee cheong fun, egg tarts, fried yam puffs, crispy char siew baos, chilli dumplings. and a soup to hit the $100 requirement.
the mushroom chee cheong fun and yam puffs are worth a try if u have not tried them before.
if you are not too hiam and can chin cai eat like me, canton paradise can easily satisfy your tummy. standards are kinda consistent and price wise, its still tank-able for me.
the hk roast and soup added up to around 50 already.

Fragrant, umami and heartwarming. As if welcoming us into his home, Chef @esora.koizumi
pours us the most delicate, aromatic and alluring Dashi Broth into a tea cup with some Yuzu Zest. This results in measured sips of umami fragrance which wholesomely warms the heart and soul. Immensely comforting. @esora.restaurant
’s aburi chirashi don ($29) with their Saturday 1 for 1 (book via their website or phone) and it was so great!! It’s super affordable considering the quality of their ingredients and also comes with free flow pasta salad and greens. P.s. they are also available on #burpplebeyond
The sashimi came in quite substantial portions and tasted fresh. The smokiness due to them torching the surface, and I believe the sashimi is sprinkled with just a little bit of some kind of special salt, which really enhances the flavour. The rice is mixed with black sesame seeds and a bit of ume (sour plum) furikake, which makes it an interesting spin on the usual vinegary sushi rice and it went quite well with the sashimi.
Will definitely be coming back to try their hiyashi somen (uni, botan ebi, aburi salmon and other luxurious ingredients) and mentaiko cod fish bowl!!
