Everyone finally arrived into Copenhagen and it is for lunch at the reopened Noma which now divide their year into three seasons. We are in their vegetable season🤔, yes, VEGETABLE season🤨.
I was of course not excited as the plant kingdom is not where i prefer to indulge except maybe if I can💨 it.
However at Noma, cooking with vegetables included what they could find underground, above ground, near the water and in the trees.
I was surprised and somewhat delighted with the art like creations that were busting with many dimensional textures and flavours. I have never eaten so many different types of plants and even had their JUICE pairing!🙃. Menu is on the last picture📷 #brianchowcph

Surprisingly decent thai food tucked in the bustling streets of Jalan Besar. The green curry was sweet and creamy, the krapow was really savoury and saucy, and the mango sticky rice was served fresh with cold sweet mango and warm glutinous rice. Was a tad disappointed with the tom yum fried rice though which was very mild in flavour and the phad thai which was slightly too oily. But still, a good deal, especially since we snagged the 50% off discount with eatigo! We spent less than $10 per person for restaurant standards!

This fluffy soufflé pancake from Tokyo is finally available in Wisma Atria’s Japan Food Town (L4)! Prepared upon order, Riz Labo Kitchen’s pancakes are all gluten-free and made from scratch with rice flour and organic soy milk imported from Japan. We had their Matcha soufflé pancake ($18) — the pancakes were rich and decadent, but can get a little jelak after awhile.
I would recommend getting their Iced Organic Ginger Lemonade ($5) to go along with the pancakes, for a refreshing and (excitingly) spicy kick in between mouthfuls of the pancake. ~ @kxryee
Finally tried Oporto at Holland V – a newly opened Aussie fast food chain specialising in Portuguese flame grilled chicken! 🐔
We tried the 1/4 flame grilled chicken and the Chicken Embruhlo (aka chicken wrap). The grilled chicken was soft, juicy and tender 👍🏻 The chicken wrap was made up of 2 grilled chicken tenders, crunchy slaw and spicy rice wrapped in a warm pita bread. The rice was a lil too much and not at all spicy. Could benefit from some spices or flavour. I also wish that there was a more generous amount of chicken and that the chicken was more tender as the name suggests 🙈 There is also the option of adding a sauce. I asked for mayo, which was too much and too sweet for my liking - it tasted like bananas to me. Perhaps garlic sauce might’ve been a better option.
VERDICT: There’s room for improvement on the chicken wrap but the grilled chicken is perfect. The food is also competitively priced and wallet-friendly! Oporto does delivery as well, for those of you too lazy to leave the house 😂 PS. Oporto is a great place for people watching!

Dinner was quick and yum! Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew (#instantsamgyetang

Fried multigrain rice (#wenrecipes
Ingredients - Serve 2:
300g cooked Jap multigrain rice
2 eggs (beaten)
2-3 cloves garlic (chopped)
4 nos fresh shitake mushroom
3/4 cup Veg - capsicum & zucchini
Grape seed oil/ sesame oil
1 tsp oyster sauce
2 tsp light soy
1. Heat pan with oil and fry 1/2 of the garlic till fragrant.
2. Add veg & mushroom to sautéed and add oyster sauce. Mix well and dish out.
3. Fry balance garlic with some sesame oil till fragrant.
4. Add rice to fry. Mix well.
5. Add back the precooked ingredients and mix well.
6. Push rice aside and pour in the egg, scramble well with the rice.
7. Lastly add light soy and pepper. Mix well. Serve!

I will take a cold brew over espresso-based coffee every single time, but I do love the smell of freshly ground beans and espresso-ed coffee ground. So there’s nothing better than enjoying a cold brew while parked right beside the espresso machine 😆 I probably got more of my caffeine high inhaling the aroma than from the cold brew itself 😬
