Managed to make our way to our favourite Korean space for dinner today and you already know the owner always hooks us up with the best grub. Today is a plateful of Bossam (amongst other dishes) sliced boiled pork belly, served with baek kimchi (non-spicy, mild, salty-sweet), and doraji-muchim (bellflower root, spicy, intensely crunchy). A small dish of raw garlic and green peppers, or some dipping sauce if you please. -
Eat it any way you like, wrapped in kimchi, on a shovel of rice, a pat of chilli or sandwiched with garlic or vegetables, you’re gunna to get texture, you’re gunna get taste, you’re gunna get fed.
Finally got to try puffer fish sashimi at Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki! Given all the hype surrounding it due to its difficult preparation, it tasted pretty normal although it had quite a nice chewy texture that might not be for everybody. This place serves individual hotpot that's heated by induction. Pretty cool though some may prefer charcoal style.
You get to choose between chicken soup, tomato soup, mala and Tom yam.
There's a healthy selection in the menu too. From mushrooms to meatball, beef, slice fish, chicken, vegetables, and the prawns are pretty fresh too.
Value for money hotpot, $28 ala carte buffet. The quality of meat is pretty good, don't expect Wagyu but still good.
