I've prioritized taking care of my mind, having fun, and doing things that make me laugh. And eating well - as in, really good food, like steak or pasta or fresh vegetables or an amazing dessert. You know, 'treat yo'self.' 😂🥞☕

Found myself a spot 🙆🏻♀️
[Zafferano] - What an appropriate name for the soft and fluffy as cloud dessert, Mascarpone Cloud ($16). It is made up of mascarpone cheese and cream. The shredded sponge covering the mascarpone cheese and cream is infused with saffron and crafted to look like the mimosa flower.

干捞面 Vegan Dry Noodles 🍜 | A basic but delicious dish from Hwa Jin Vegetarian, dapaoed in my trusty glass lunchbox! The aunty was so kind to pack soup in the other divided section, which usually comes with the noodles only when you dine in! Swapped the original noodles (which contains egg) for vegan kway teow (flat rice noodles) and love how it soaks up the flavours of the sauce!
MONDAY LUNCH TALK
Spaghetti Bolognese, Garlic Bread and Cut Oranges for 30 pax.
Out of the new dishes that we have tried at d’Good Cafe, the one that stood out the most and definitely the tastiest has got to be the Ben in the Woods ($19.50), which is an improved version of the familiar eggs benedict. This upgraded rendition comes with two poached eggs sitting on top a bed of mashed potato and crispy potato shreds that gives it an additional mouthfeel and crunch. To up the ante and give it a luxurious touch, a truffle paste & wine sauce was prepared specifically for this dish that was drizzled onto the eggs before freshly shaven black truffles joined the party.
Other notable dishes during the tasting include the appetizer of Tuna Tataki & Tomatoes ($13), Italian comfort food of Medley Mushroom Risotto ($16) and Freshwater Seafood Risotto ($18). Vegetarians are definitely not left out as there’s the d’Big Bello Burger ($18).

Another hotpot place??? Not quite but @steamboxsg
has launched three soup bases (brewed in-house) that you can go for instead of their normal congee base. Choose between Pork Rib Lotus Root ($18), Chicken Herbal Collagen ($25) or Base of Seafood ($28). Using steaming technology, you'll get to enjoy the natural flavours of the dishes as this mode of cooking will retain the original flavours and nutritional value. Plus the meat juices collected while steaming will drip into the soup base below thus thickening it.
A range of new dishes has also been launched, such as:
- beautifully platted Meat Flower Rings featuring tender marinated beef ($10) or sliced fish ($9.80)
- Chef’s Speciality Paper-wrapped Mala Groupe Fillet ($19.80)
- Handmade cuttlefish paste ($8.80)
- Chef's Speciality Bamboo Shoot Roll ($7.80 for 3 pieces)
- Sweet potato ball with sweet corn ($4.80 for 2 pieces) - XO sauce rice roll ($6.80 for 2 pieces)
- Mixed paste oyster wanton ($4.80 for 2 pieces)
- Chawanmushi with three types eggs ($4.80)
- Marinated braised beef ($13.80) and many more
We went for the Chicken Herbal Collagen, well its hard to resist collagen when your table is all girls, which was healthy and nutritious. Though I felt the soup was kind of blend and wish there was stronger herbal flavour.

🥩 [iSTEAKS Diner] 🥩
📍 [Holland Village • Singapore]
Offering one of the more affordable steaks around, iSTEAKS Diner doesn’t compromise on taste. The Australian ribeye here was tender, done to my medium rare liking, and well marbled with fats, and coupled with the sauce, the steak was bursting with flavour on every bite. Less than S$25 for a 200g portion and two side dishes such as mac n cheese and French fries is truly a value for money deal!
🍜 [Dover Road Kai Kee Wanton Noodles] 🍜
📍 [Queensway • Singapore]
Wanton mee here, wanton mee there, wanton mee everywhere. But this stall at Alexandra Village Food Centre offers not only cheap but also big hearty portions of wanton noodles. We got the big portion for a mere S$3!
Noodles are al dente and on the thick side, the char siew wasn’t dry, the wantons that could simply be popped into the mouth were tasty, but most importantly, the sauce with the noodles was so flavourful and addictive that the dish could be eaten on its own with barely any chilli sauce added.
