That's a day out Sunday planned. If you haven't been to visit Werribee Park, put it on your to do list. I used to know the caretakers son in primary school and back then it's wasn't as restored as it is now, infact most of it was run down. Only parts of the main house were open to the public. Fair to say it was a little creepy. The hotel wasn't there and we used to walk around in there at night (we were 12 and breaking all the rules).now you can see a lot of it and it really is beautiful. The grounds in themselves are a great place for kids to run, have a picnic lunch, visit the old workers cottages on the way to the river check out the @vicstaterosegarden
or you can visit @shadowfaxwines
for a bite to eat, stay @mansionhotelspa
, grab a coffee or cocktail. Visit Werribee @zoosvictoria
Open Range Zoo and do the safari..awesome!! It's an easy 30 minute drive west of Melbourne. People bag Werribee, mosty because of the sewage farm and as a born and bred Werribee boy, when they do my response is always...well the best part of you goes there everyday! Seriously though, check out the mansion and its surroundings. I might see you there on Sunday.
