Do you actually acknowledge your accomplishments?
Today, I am... my accomplishment isn’t this award but it’s what it actually represents.
One year ago, I decided to go back into auditing while Lee went back to get his Masters and start on a new career path.
It meant a steady income coupled with health insurance and a piece of mind for my hubby while he followed his dreams.
It was an easy relationship choice. But, boy did it hurt my ego.
It was only 3 years ago, I walked away from my successful public accounting career to pursue my entrepreneurial endeavors & find my purpose.
When I left, I knew it was the right thing to do - I knew I was meant for more than hustling and feeling unfulfilled daily...& when we made the decision for me to go back to work, during this season, I was so afraid I’d be back in the same grind in no time and lose sight of my purpose.
But, with pure intention, I decided daily to work hard everyday but when my hours were up, I’d leave work at work.
& this leadership award is proof (to me) that this reformed workaholic can work hard without working herself into the ground.
Today is a good day 💕
We’re packing for Portland! Can’t wait to celebrate with these two dreamboats! 😍
What started off as just a weekend social media fast to prepare for #ldsconf
, turned into a 2 week fast. So hello! I’m back... even though I was hesitant to get back on. 😬Does anyone else have a social media love/hate relationship? I do! There’s so much inspiration to be found on here, but it can definitely be harmful when it distracts us from what’s truly important. This space, however, is where I found support at the beginning of our homeschool journey, where I’ve met and connected with some incredible mothers walking the same path as me, and more importantly, where my testimony of homeschooling with Christ grew. Even though I’ll be making some changes in how I’ll be using social media (more on that later 😉), I am still grateful for all the goodness it has brought into my life. —
One of my favorite communities to be a part of is @ahomeoflearning
. I’m so grateful for the inspiration that is shared and its mission of strengthening our divine roles as mothers, nurturers, and teachers by establishing a home of learning. ✨ We have been working on some projects over there that will help us to be even more unified and uplifted on our homeschooling journey with Christ. We CAN’T WAIT to share what we have in the works! Stay tuned!!! 🤗

12 new temples! wow this was probably my favorite announcement, i lovee all of these beautiful buildings😍
which temple is your favorite??👇🤔
🌱 Brunch 😋🌱 So I’m completely new at making smoothie bowls and well for the very first one I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!! Packed full of goodness I know my insides will be singing on this wet miserable Melbourne Day 🌈⛈💧 What’s your favourite smoothie bowl to make??
Birthdays for loved ones who have passed on are hard. Every part of you wants to remember and celebrate them, but it’s a little tricky finding joy because they aren’t physically here. The missing is hard. So hard. Usually the day brings about the “what if” questions. What would life be like if....? .
Today we celebrate my sweet nephew Dylan’s birthday. He would have been 17, but died from a brain tumor when he was just 9. I can only imagine how many of you out there have felt the pain of losing a child and my heart breaks for you. I watched my sister and best friend @mandyshaw1
lose Dylan. I felt the excruciating pain, fear and sadness and would have done anything to take that pain away.
I also watched that same sister decorate cupcakes for the neighbor kids and tie blankets for a local children’s hospital on the first birthday after he died... SHE showed me and all of us around her that it was okay to celebrate him. She wanted us to remember him, talk about him and make the world a better place because of the things we learned FROM him.
My heart and honestly my life, was forever changed when that sweet boy left us. I hope I have made him proud. I hope he knows how loved and missed he is. He is still very much a part of our family and will be forever.
To Dylan, I’m going to enjoy every bite of my Cafe Rio tonight... just for YOU! Happy Birthday, buddy 💙
When you look at these two pictures, there are a few noticeable differences. You might notice a little weight loss, a smile that reaches all the way to my eyes and less tired in my face. When I look at these two pictures, I see a lot of differences that aren't visible to the human eye.
When I look at the picture from a year ago, I see a woman who had lost herself while she was trying to be the best wife, mom, employee, student, friend, etc. that she could be. In this year's picture, I see a woman who puts herself first and has found that all of the other things fall into place. By making "me" a priority, I've become the best version of myself that I can be, which makes me the best wife, mom, employee, friend, daughter, sister, etc. that I can be as well.
I see a woman...
...who makes time for the things that she loves every day. Who reads books again and sits at the piano to sing until the toddlers take over.
...who cares for her physical health. Who fuels her body instead of feeding her emotions and finds joy in working out daily again.
...who says yes to more spontaneous fun and doesn't feel bad about saying no to something that will create extra stress.
...who doesn't feel like she's drowning every day because of everything on her plate. Who used to feel so overwhelmed some days that she couldn't even do something as simple as brushing her teeth.
I see a woman who loves the life she is living and gets excited about things that are in store each and every day.
On the blog today and last week, I shared two different posts with this same topic. I talked about the things that I've done to invest in myself this year. How I've invested time and money in me and why you're worth investing in. Yesterday I shared what I do for my mental health each day. Click through the link to the blog in my profile to check them both out!
Feeling goofy heading to their swim lessons in pjs today 😂🏊♀️

With the 10 Day Social Media Fast over (seriously, how spectacular was #LDSConf
??) I have had plenty of time to think about all the great, grand, wonderful things time has to offer and what I am doing with mine. I’m committing to doing more good in the world - including on social media, because how miraculous is this technology that connects people from all over the planet? - But ultimately it starts with these hooligans here in my home. I’m feeling pumped and ready to #sharegoodness
Anyone else feeling super stoked on life?! 🙋🏻♀️
Welcome back to those of you finishing up your 10-day social media fast! 🙌🎉 #sharegoodness
Remember, President Nelson didn't say WHEN we should do the fast, so it's not too late! “The effect of your 10-day fast may surprise you. What do you notice after taking a break from perspectives of the world that have been wounding your spirit? Is there a change in where you now want to spend your time and energy? Have any of your priorities shifted—even just a little? I urge you to record and follow through with each impression."
-President Russell M. Nelson, October 2018
Mackenna and her husband specialize in rare and fun house plants. What started out as an unusual niche turned into a catalyst for a wonderful community. Tune in today to hear how Mackenna used her shop to develop a love for her circumstance and how she found peace in being a working mom. She is one of my favorite people, my ministering Sister and today’s guest. Go have a listen.
I didn’t want to share this with everyone, but I have felt an overwhelming feeling to share my experience with the 10 day social media fast. As you might have seen, I have not been active on here for 10 days. This is a very hard thing for me to do considering I’m a social media manager & I make a living out of this particular thing. When a prophet of God, President Russell M. Nelson, asked all of the women of the church to participate in a 10 day fast from all social media, I panicked. I didn’t think I could do it. I’m not perfect by any means, & social media was always an important hobby of mine that I didn’t think I could sacrifice. But through God ALL things are possible!! I did it. It was hard. It felt impossible at times. But with help from God & my sweet husband, I accomplished something that was hard for me. & I also saw the amazing blessings that came from it. I felt less dependent on social media. I stopped comparing myself to other girls on social media. & overall, I spent more time with my husband, family & God!! I highly suggest this fast. It was hard, but so worth it & definitely something I need to do more often!! God is good!! The gospel is true!! I love life!!! 💖💖
Instead of having a big birthday party for Brigsby this year, we chose to take him on a little trip to do something that we thought he would love. Based on his first aquarium visit in Georgia back in June, we were pretty sure he’d enjoy going to another one. So, we drove to New Orleans to make a quick trip to the Audubon Aquarium. As expected, Brigsby loved it. And we loved watching him take it all in. 💙🐟
I feel blessed everyday that I made the decision to serve a mission. I found myself, discovered my strengths, discovered my weaknesses, met the best people ever, made life-long friends, strengthened my testimony, testified of Jesus Christ, and overall it made me a better person.
While on our social media break, we were able to visit the Mexico City temple! 😍 Emma went to the Mexico MTC, so she’d visited the temple once. But it was closed then, so she only got to see the grounds & the visitor’s center. It was awesome getting to go inside! Everything was in puro español, and it honestly made us listen more carefully than we had in a long time. We had a great experience!
Aside from that, we’ve been doing some MAJOR planning of how we’re gonna visit the surrounding Mexico temples. It’s gonna be crazy! Our goal this year was to visit 35 new temples - any guesses of how many we’ll have *actually* visited by the end of the year? (Hint: we’ve already passed our original goal! 😏)
I have always had a hard time talking about my fears, but today this quote hit differently for me than it ever has before. Today it read: “I have loved this life too fondly to be fearful of its darker moments,” and “I have loved Heavenly Father (and been loved by Him) too fondly to be fearful of what He asks of me,” among other things. Our barriers create fear, but “perfect love casteth out fear” and allows us to move forward. Please remember no matter how your fears fill in the blanks in the quote, you are never alone and never unloved. ❤️ #1John418 #sharegoodness
I feel like I’ve been deprived when I have designed because I’m limited to black and white for everything we cut! This past week we’ve done a lot of contemplating with where we want this business to go, and in the process I decided it was time to start designing more! It’s one of my favorite things that I do with this business and it’s been great to design in color! This design is available now on this cute pillow + 19 other items! Plus I have ten more designs available in everything you can imagine!! Follow the link in our profile to see it all!

You've been thinking about getting back into a routine but have been waiting for the right time... 🙋♀️💗
You tell yourself...
"When I feel more motivated..."
"When the weather changes..."
"When I have more help with the kids..."
"When I life slows down..."
And I'm going to be SUPER REAL for a minute-there is LEGIT NO RIGHT TIME.
I've told myself every excuse in the book (i just don’t have time with a baby now 🤦♀️) BUT I can tell you from experience, it ONLY takes 5 days of exercising to FEEL like exercising, to be 100% back in the game & to get EXTREMELY motivated to go after your goals. JUST 5 days!! 👟 👟 👟
**So I'm looking for you if you want help with a kick-start...(**and have 10-20 lbs you want to lose) and want to be held accountable to your goals in a group that TOTALLY gets it!**
I’ve learned how to incorporate my sweet girl into my workouts 🙌🏼🙌🏼. If your radar is going off and you want to take ACTION this fall, this is for you!! 🙋♀️💗

Sometimes I wish I could just emoji how the photos make me feel and you guys can just guess but they’d always be so similar cause all my photos are lovey dovey. 🙃
This is what our kitchen counter or dining room table almost always look like. Covered in crafting supplies. Most days I don’t even clean it up because it’s bound to end up back there. Does anyone else have crafty kids? 🤣🤷🏻♀️🎨🖍📝
One of my most favorite callings in life: AUNTIE 😍😍
I did a really crazy thing on Saturday night: babysat all 6 kiddos (with my mom's help of course)! It was crazy and a lot of fun. I'm just missing Jace and Hendrix in this photo. :( But I love all of these kiddos just the same, including our angel niece. ❤️
I'm not sure how I got so lucky in the Aunt department but I did.
Oh, and you can't forget Jack. 😂
