Not gonna lie, sharing this ^^ publicly feels incredibly awkward & strange, because like.... who writes notes to themselves, right?? 🙈 When I was asked at the retreat this weekend to write myself a letter about WHY I’m proud of myself, I scribbled this down in my notebook and when I read it out-loud to the group, I literally burst into tears. It hit me hard.
& that’s when I knew that I needed to embrace the fear & vulnerability and share this publicly to hopefully inspire YOU to stop and take a second to look inward and reflect on all of the things you are proud of too. What adversities & struggles have you overcome in your life? Reflect on how far you’ve come, all the lessons you’ve learned along the way, & give yourself some MAJOR LOVE girl, because I guarantee you, you’re doing a helluva lot better than you’re giving yourself credit for! 😘💖 #madeforbrave #selflove #bebrave

So my lower body was attacked again. Yes back to back lower body focussed workouts 🔥 This time it was all banded. This isn’t the toughest workout, however my glutes are so sore from yesterday that it really burned. Not so good during the workout but it feels great after! 😅
And I ended the workout with a 30 minute walk ✅

Your footwear absolutely impacts your workouts and can make you prone to injury.
Traditional runners are really only good for one activity and that’s running.
But if you want to get serious about your gains you should reconsider what you’re wearing on your feet while lifting weights. This is one of the first things I go over with my clients.
Basically what you’re looking for in a lifting shoe is something that keeps your feet close to the ground (aka low profile). Less cushion under your feet allows for better rooting of the feet, which allows for better muscle recruitment. Ultimately you can just “feel more”. You’ll get what I mean once you make the switch.
My personal favourite shoes to lift in are converse shoes. I just like that I can feel the ground beneath the shoe and also what my toes are doing during my lifts!
Try switching up your shoes and see how you feel!

A few exercises from my leg workout yesterday. Sticking with heavier weight, less reps and more sets for strength building :
Straight leg deadlift : 4 x 10
Squat : 4 x 10-12
Glute bridge : 4 x 10
Weighted calf raises : 4 x 25
Sumo dumbbell squats on platform: 4 x 10
Be aware that how you eat may not affect you immediately (although sometimes it does!🙈). If you’re working towards getting fitter & leaner, then you’ve got to focus on what you’re feeding your body now! You might not see results straight away, but this month’s diet will translate to next month’s body! 🌱💚
