It’s not easy doing something when your partner isn’t on board. Not saying it can’t be done but it can be challenging. I found myself failing a lot because we were living different lifestyles.
I had to have a serious conversation with MYSELF first and foremost, then continued & shared my struggles with Aric. He knew how much I needed this, he couldn’t deny that he needed it as well. Reluctantly he started helping me for ME but not really for him.
Fast forward about four months in HE is MOTIVATING ME. Days when I want to just give in and get fast food he reminds me why we started this. Days when I don’t want to work out, he reminds me how much stronger I’ll feel after 💪🏽
I can see the change in him, and that makes me so proud and happy for the both of us!!! I don’t show it often about how incredibly stoked I am that I found this guy, I’m working on that.

Shift Shop, Week 2, Day 1 Speed :35 ✅ A lot of this program is speed and agility based. Perfect good cross training for my running, right?! NOT, while the program is great, I’m finding it to be quite the challenge, I’m not exactly super coordinated! I’m taking the challenge to improve over the 3 week program and I always finish what I start! If you want change, it should NOT be easy, right!?
Holiday 100 Mile Challenge (btwn Thanksgiving & Christmas Day) ✅ This was a great challenge, not only was I able to complete it (in 3 weeks), it put in perspective for me the actual miles I put in, both walking and running.

But what I do want everyday is the feeling of exhaustion after a good workout. Knowing I gave it my all for that 30 minutes and because of that I am working towards a better me.
You see in this program every week we do certain exercises for a minute and try to see how many reps we can get in. Not only did I beat last weeks numbers, but I blew them out of the park! Which means I’m gonna have to work even harder this next week to make sure I can beat that score again!
The only person I’m trying to be better than is myself.

First, yes I’m sucking it in! On both so I just want to clarify that. Idk about you but I’ve always tried sucking in my stomach as much as possible just so I can see my frame. Doing it when your fat is hard let me tell ya. I don’t look like this always, really ever because I don’t walk around sucked in, I’d probably faint😂
The top picture was taken late August the bottom yesterday. My mid section is where I carried most of my weight so I had a lot to lose off of it!
It’s cool to see the progress, physically. Number wise I would say it’s between 15-25lbs of additional weight off!

The greatest gift that I have ever given myself was investing in my health. This is coming from a wife and mother of two that always thinks twice about doing anything for myself. When I first signed up I said that I needed to get healthy for family so I would be able to take care of them and would be around for a long time. But let me tell you it wasn't until I said I am doing this for ME that my drive and determination clicked it. I stopped skipping workouts and became more focused on my nutrition. .
The picture on the left was taken in June a few days after I achieved the 100lbs lost mark and the day that I decided that my next goal was to compete in the Beachbody Classic Physique Competition July next year. My confidence was through the roof because I had accomplished something that I always doubted that I could do. I finally found the healthy lifestyle that taught me about food and how to use it to fuel my body. Now 6 months later and 20 more pounds down I feel better today than when I was in my 20s. .

The day this prep calendar was released, I immediately looked at this day and said “fuck no...I’m NOT doing that workout.”

Yup, you guessed it, another Insanity Workout. This one: Insanity MAX30 - Tabata Power...my nemesis .
Up until last night, I was still debating whether or not I was going to do it or substitute it with something else🤔
But let’s face it, if I have a workout calendar in front of me, I HAVE to stick with that routine. My OCD is WAY too bad to switch things up😂
Well not only did I do it...I knocked it out of the park👊🏼
All of the jumping eventually bothers my knees, but I didn’t stop, I just modified. And guess what...I actually DID NOT MAX OUT😱
(Well the last 60 seconds of power jumps I had to stop for 10 seconds to find my life...but I’m not counting that!)

After some success, I was able to lose 30lbs, prioritize in my life, and focus on the things that matter most (my health, happiness, and loved ones). Two or Three months later, I look back and have lost my way ... yet again. I have shared my struggle with consistency here before on a previous post, but never did anything to resolve it. I recognized that I had put my health and well-being on the back burner and distracted myself with other things - things that I cannot even seem to identify now. It’s like... what the heck have I been doing the past two months? 🤦🏼♀️
Before, I had found most of my success by creating a plan and sticking to it. Slowing those plans seemed to slip away little by little, until eventually I would start every week HOPING the I would have the strength and energy to eat right, avoid temptation, and dedicate to working out. As Rachel Hollis says, HOPE IS NOT A PLAN.
In the beginning, Podcasts were a huge motivator for me to stick to my goals and I have finally reintroduced them into my daily routine! It’s astounding how much of a difference it makes just by being INTENTIONAL with your decisions.

I call it my new lifestyle journey because this has completely changed my life. Not just my fitness level or my weight on the scale. It has helped me change my relationship with food, the way I cook, sleeping, skin, appetite,food cravings, attitude, mental health, confidence. Literally every aspect of my life has improved by me committing to strive to have a healthy lifestyle. •I forgot about the fact that last wee was terrible both mentally and physically
