In Quranic Surah Al-Isra (also called Surah Bani Israel), there is mention of Akbar Ul Kaba’ir, (the major sins) in Islam. 3 biggest sins in Islam are; ▪ Shirk (joining others with Allah) ▪ Qatal (homicide) ▪ Zina (adultery)
There are 3 variants of Zina;
1 Ghair e Musafihat (habitual, someone who is in the habit of fornicating, including rape.) 2 Mutakhazi Akhdaan (happens as a result of association/relation)
3 Su-e-Bejahalah (losing self-control)
With sincere Tauba (repentance), all are forgivable.
Zaabta e Tauba (The Code of Repentance)
Repentance in Islam is a direct matter between man and God, and there is no intercession needed, but there are 3 Steps to Repentance; ▪ Remorse – Stop the bad deed ▪ Resolution – Regret doing it ▪ Repentance – Commit to not doing it again
There is no limit to repentance. You can sin, sincerely repent, sin again, sincerely repent, so on and so forth. Allah has promised to forgive, as long as the repentance is sincere. Except when one sees death in front of his/her eyes. That is when the door to repentance is closed.
Its good to have a mix of Rija (fear) and Umeed (hope), it’s said.
