Had a good shoulder and back day today! I'm glad they are starting to look bomb AF again! Honestly...all I wanted to do when I came home from work was nap. But I rested for a few minutes while my phone charged (it was basically dead), and then after about 20 minutes I went to the gym. I'm so glad I went though! Sometimes people aren't feeling it when they go, but we hardly ever regret it when we make it. If you are struggling to get up and go to the gym right now...do it! The Anterior fibers originate at the lateral 1/3 of the clavicle, while lateral fibers originate at the Acromian of the Scapula & the posterior fibers originate at spine of the Scapula. Each insert on the shaft of the humerus at the Deltoid tuberosity. The anterior fibers are usually the most active because we tend to do more reaching forward/shoulder flexion, whether through exercise or general living. Because of this over activity, "active trigger points"/restrictions in fascial glide tend to develop, making it a sensitive area(there may also be other factors such as Bicep tendon, pec minor, etc but we'll stick w/the Deltoid Muscle, for now). The posterior fibers on the other hand tend to be the most inactive/weakest & are responsible for shoulder extension & also form #triggerpoint (s) This general imbalance in strength can contribute to #shoulderpain & dysfunction as well as have an impact on overall #posture . The lateral fibers also form trigger points that may hinder movement such as abduction(though all fibers are recruited). The lateral fibers are usually where you get punched during a #slugbug ,hopefully not on the anterior #ouch Healthy shoulder tips: 1) Relieve tension/improve fascial glide to anterior & lateral aspects of deltoid 2) Find your proper positioning of shoulder joint, maintain regular & full movement of shoulder joint 3) Put an emphasis on strengthening/stimulating posterior fibers as they tend to be weakest; Id recommend after relieving/"deactivating" the anterior fibers. 4) *These fibers don't need much weight to be strengthened. In fact, this joint is often described as a golf ball sitting on a tee. And Im no golfer, but putting more stress on a tee(joint) than a tee(muscle(s)) can handle wouldnt be a good idea. Anyway thats as FFFAAARRRR as I know🏌️

I've had every reason to quit this prep these past couple of weeks. My body's been exhausted between work and training. Many people have told me I'm doing too much and should slow down and take it easy. My only thought when I hear this is you don't understand. This is what I do. I push my body to it's limits and even then I still feel like there's more that I can do. My body may be weak at this point. But my mind is strong. I'm honestly running on pure will power and God knows it's Him keeping me going bc there's definitely days where I think I just can't, but I do. Mindset is everything. Yesterday I did a 25 min incline walk and some of my back stretches and by the end of the day my back was worse SO no gym for me today, would like to get in at least some walking tomorrow because I sit all day but I don’t know if I’m helping or hurting at this point.
