We lose ourselves in the things we love. We find ourselves there, too.
———————————————————————-This is the last 8 months in 60 seconds. This is waking up at 5:00am so that I can be ready to work by 9:00am. This is hours of training, cardio, and meticulous dieting.
After last year, I knew I needed a change. If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan- not the goal, right?
I contacted several coaches and when I found Matt, it felt less about wether I could pay his fees and more about if I could follow his plan. I felt as though he was qualifying me as an athlete as much as I was him as a coach. I imagine, as a coach you can realistically only divide your attention well amongst a handful of athletes...and you want to invest in those who are committed. I was. I have never had a coach as detailed, attentive and invested in my success as Matt. He is relentless is correcting my form, encouraging me to go as hard as I can, and pushing beyond (what I thought were) my limits.
When I attended Dexter last year, he said “get yourself a coach who rarely tells you yes or pays you a compliment. Get yourself someone who tells you “that’s better, BUT... Get you a coach who will tell you when you’re not ready, not good enough.” When Matt tells me I got something right or that I am ready- I have earned that remark.
This prep has been different in almost every way. I’ve trained harder, eaten more strategically, I’ve practiced my posing religiously, ensured I get sleep so my muscles can repair and recover, I’ve made zero excuses. I have given this prep all I’ve got.
Win or lose today, I know I’ve given this prep 100%. I know I’ve followed my plan precisely. I KNOW I’ve got a completely different physique than last year and I know I am on the right path!!!
