Powdered masks, oh how I love thee. A bit of mask mixology is always fun – who doesn’t like a mask that’s customised to your skin – and I genuinely appreciate the fact that I can mix my powdered masks with my own ingredients. I must admit, though, that I’m not the most imaginative person, as I tend to always use apple cider vinegar, maple syrup and water (and maybe a drop of oil) to make the mask suit my skin’s needs. I thought I’d share my current favourite powdered masks, which – as you will see – are pretty much all in the same category (clarifying, exfoliating, anti-pollution) but have a varying degree of OOMPH. I’ve listed them according to how big a punch the masks pack my skin (no. 1 is the gentlest). Do let me know if you have any questions.
Natura Miracle Mask. I’ve raved about this affordable gem on so many occasions and I still love it SO MUCH. I’m on my third bottle and it’s almost empty (backup is ready). It’s more a weekly treatment than a “mask” for me, and I adore it because it just keeps my skin and pores in healthy condition. It rebalances, heals, reduces inflammation and gently but effectively lifts off dirt, pollution, etc. The Natura Miracle Mask is a staple in my skincare collection. I normally mix it with organic apple cider vinegar and leave it for around 7 minutes.
Green Clay Face Mask. I made a post about this mask last Tuesday, so I won’t go into detail again but simply mention that this mask is like a vitamin and energy boost for my skin – dull and lacklustre skin be gone.
Harmony Rescue Mask. This mask is excellent when my skin is imbalanced and being a really angry, hormonal bitch. It deeply cleanses, rebalances, reduces breakouts/irritation and – which makes it stand out in this particular mask crowd – soothes. It’s very de-stressing, not only for the skin but also the mind, which I attribute to the gorgeously cooling, green texture and the beautiful scent of matcha. I normally just mix the mask with water and leave it for 7-10 minutes. Easy peasy.
