It's June, yes. Do I love summer hikes? Yes. Am I simultaneously wishing I was skiing? YES. Anybody else still secretly (or not so secretly) craving the carve?
Mile 2000 - Mount Baker, Watson's Traverse
A tame & scenic climb up Mount Baker via Coleman & Deming glaciers, followed by a steep and high consequence descent of the Park Glacier and beyond. The Park Glacier is shown in the photo. This route essentially traverses the entirety of Mount Baker from West ➡️East crossing 5 glaciers! Truly an amazing experience.... Jumping crevasses (Sorry Mom!), navigating avalanche terrain, and dealing with pollen infested snow.... The mountain pulled all the tricks out of the bag on this one. Our beers at the car tasted better than usual 😁
I've had so much fun the last week with my friend Will, we've developed a strong relationship pursuing our adventures. Serendipity is a word that describes our relationship well. Major thanks to his parents for the hospitality and conversations! Bellingham is the greatest.
Sorry not sorry for the Insta spam but the island was so beautiful
Despite having no trail maps, and every posted sign contradicting the last one, we managed to get around alright
I never knew these grew in Washington!
Did y’all think I was kidding about these ferns
Man it feels good to feel this way✨🌲🍄
Stoked to get up to Baker in the weekend for a #powday
🤙 Alex was in town from NZ and was frothing to get some snow. We were happy to oblige! Need to work on getting some action shots but focusing on staying upright for now 😂👌
dropping a tasty one in the Olympics 🤗🤙🏼
A solitary killer, the studded Subaru Outback, stalks its prey. When this beast meets the road....it destroys it.
Had a fantastic day skiing at Mt. Baker with my dad! We were so excited to try the black diamonds with 20 inches of fresh powder ⛷ ❄️... there was lots of face planting, rolling and falling and I lost my ski under 2ft of snow, but we made it down the hill! We decided to move on to the other more maintained runs but it was still amazing snow all day! #pnw #skipnw #mtbaker #powderday #skieveryday #westcoastliving #westcoastbestcoast
Gawd today was so beautiful!
There’s no hiding my love of the mountains. And spending time with great people makes it that much better. 📷: @michaelg_pdx
Ok, friends, I’m going to let you in on a little secret... it doesn’t always rain in Seattle. Sometimes, we get amazing, bluebird days where the sky is so clear you can see for miles. Just keep it between us, ok? .

I went skiing today. For the first time in 3 years. It certainly wasn't graceful, but damnnnnn it felt good. #luckykneethree
Oh, and I also learned how to save yo' butt in an avalanche. So do yourself and your best pow day pals a favour and take your avalanche safety courses. PSA over. Skiing is fun.
