Holiday-recap no.2: Weather forecast predicted a thick cloudcover with only a few sonwoflakes coming down, so pretty bad sight but no real fresh snow. Since avalanche situation was relatively stable, we decided to take on a steep couloir near #chaiserstuel #bannalp
I had in mind for some time now. Little did we know...
As we arrived a the cable car station, it dawned on us that there has been a lot more snowfall than we expected.
At the upper station there were at least 40cm of fresh, ultra-fluffy powder and it didn't seem to stop any time soon. Therefore, we abandoned the plans for steep, rocky couloir skiing and went for a slightly more defensive, but beautiful line from the #hasenstöcke
The ascent, even though just 1000 meters in elevation, was one of the more exhausting I had this winter, since we had to lay a fresh track all the way up through partially hip deep #powder
The descent was not easy either, since my skis pushed through this new light snow and ended up on the old, icy layer. So technically, we were sliding down a steep sheet of ice while pushing with us tons of loose snow. We had much fun nevertheless. #adventure
was what we came for and adventure did we get:)
