I joined slimming world back in January 2017 after hearing friends talk about it and seeing people that had lost weight attending groups. I always struggled with attending anything that would involve being in large groups and anything that could possibly mean the attention was on me. I hoped after pushing myself to go to college for 2 terms that my anxiety would change. In some ways it did but the issue of being over weight was still there and all the anxiety and worries that came with it wouldn’t just go away by pushing myself to attend college. I needed to get out of my rut and do something about the main cause of all my problems and anxiety.
I attended my group until the end of November when I moved to another group because I couldn’t make my original group due to work and my sons football. Slimming world is fantastic for being able to move around and find groups that fit in with your life. Even being able to attend another group and guess weigh. I started to struggle to get to group and weight was up and down so I sat down and decided to move back to my original group even through it was much further to travel. I was welcomed back with open arms and thought the members would have forgotten me! Little did I know they had nominated me for their woman of the year 😍 and I only went and won it! This meant so much to me because the fact I had moved groups for a few months didn’t matter.... they seen me for what I had achieved 💖 I didn’t join slimming world to compete and win competitions that’s not what it’s about. Slimming world members are my family and support but I have won a competition.... I have won the competition with myself and beat the old me to become the better me #slimmingworldwomanoftheyear2018#slimmingworldfamily
