Experiencing a lot of pain right now at the center base of my neck. I think it’s from sitting at my desk for long hours all week. Am also rethinking my posture at the wheel. If anyone has suggestions let me know! 🙏🏼
FUN FACT THURSDAY (that's a thing right?)
did you know that as well as a future lifetime achievement award winning ceramicist (cough cough, dreams moons and stars guys) I also clean apartments and do check ins for the lovely people using air bnb to stay in Sevilla as well as teach english?? And now recently, the lovely team over at @espaciobarroazul have asked me to do throwing demonstrations to help them out while their normal potter is off work. So far ive done 2, it's so good to be back doing what I really love to do. What do you guys do to keep a roof over your heads?
If you are ever visiting Sevilla you should definitely take a trip into Triana to learn all about the traditional pottery of the south of Spain.
I feel very inspired these days, I'm putting lots of ideas on paper, sketching, planning, I love it when I get into high creative mode like this!
This lovely skein of @bcgarn Semilla Melange is sitting on my desk right now as a major inspiration. I just love how slightly rustic it is while staying soft and the depth of its color. Plus it's 100% organic and that's pretty amazing!
How about you, what yarn is inspiring you these days? .
🥣🥣 Buddha Bowls in red cabbage cups, filled with roasted chickpeas, sweet potato, maple syrup roasted Brussels sprouts (we had to make them taste great), plus quinoa, blanched green beans, carrot spirals and the necessary ingredient that brings the meal together... a big dollop of hummus in the centre 🥣 #theeczemadetox
Sometimes the nap-time hustle doesn’t happen because I’m busy soaking, treating & washing laundry after my little has been sick all day.😞 And that’s totally ok with me because I get to comfort my sweet girl with snuggles & disney shows all day💗 This squishy loops & threads charisma tweed will just have to wait for another day➰😄 #MamaHustle#ThankfulThursday#Yarn#MakerMama#Crocheter#makeitwithmichaels
My lovely nan and I at The Albert Dock in 2011. You can't fully appreciate her bright (naturally, still) red hair here. I can't believe how she's deteriorated health wise. She's probably my best friend. Cheesy perhaps, but she was just the best person I could have hoped for to raise me. We'd go shopping together (she loves charity shops and would find amazing stuff while I always came out with piles of books), have coffee and cake in little cosy coffee shops, watch funny tv, chat for hours by phone with millions of in-jokes, she always encouraged my oddball ideas and supported me. She still does. She's the most selfless person I've ever met. Not long ago, she was very anxious and upset and suddenly, looking at me, in her normal non anxious voice: "Have you lost weight darl? Make sure you're eating enough love."
My favourite thing was to sit in pajamas at night watching tv together with tea by the fire. I miss that. I miss being able to call her. I'm desperately sad her life has been turned upside down. She doesn't deserve it.
Vascular dementia is the worst and most terrifying thing I have ever seen. I can't describe how distressing it is, actually. I try not to think about it sometimes. Some days she's her old self, completely. The next day the pattern on the carpet is all she can think about and she doesn't want to eat. The day after she's out having dinner in a restaurant with us on a day trip from the home and chatting about the dancing show she saw on TV. She wears really bright socks with her slippers now. It's the sweetest.
She was in hospital with pneumonia the last week, she's the strongest lady. As is my grandad, now living alone (he goes every day to see her, despite the fact he should be on dialysis). Life changes so quickly. Treasure your family.

What do I do with this 500lb piece of kitchen island quartz? They replaced it today because of a minor imperfection and shockingly let us keep the old one (which was new in July). Is it weird to match your kitchen and bathroom countertop? #ecoquartz#kitchenreno#quartzcountertops

SLOW COFFEE ◈ Hey there! I’m back. After a few days of moving to a new apartment, I start developing new routines. As you know, I embrace slow living and yes, a few traditions when they simply make sense and are timeless. As a coffee lover I’m really curious about brewing methods and figured out that I do not need fancy (or expensive) machines in the house. Even though I wouldn’t mind giving one a try in the future when more money is on my bank account - haha. ◈ Using my french press and ceramic coffee dripper since a while, I wanted to give the classic Italian style a try at home. I was always curious about it! So, I started doing my research about moka pots. It didn’t take long and it was clear that @bialettiofficial is the top favorite. I decided to buy „Venus“ - a stainless steel model which is useable on all kind of stoves unlike the most popular model „Moka Express“ which is made of aluminium and not working with induction stoves. ◈ Long story short: I love my new moka baby so far!!! Yes, it requires regular cleaning and a few minutes to brew but that’s just part of a my slow living lifestyle. And I think it’s a pleasure to take care of such a beautiful product which makes such good coffee. ◈ What’s your favorite brewing method at home? Do you have a moka pot as well? What about you, lovely coffee addict friends? @herr_stemme@yogawithbow@quantic12@falamoyacrava#bialetti#coffeeculture#mokapot#slowliving

Inspirations to collages.
Today, we were setting up the exhibition at Kendal Museum. There are still things to be done but it's looks really good already! I'm so excited and touched!
W koncu moja pierwsza solo wystawa. W Kendal. Wsrod gor i pagorkow. Stworzylismy ja praktycznie sami od poczatku. M wieszal prace, ja zajmowalam sie reszta, dogladajac Helenki. Coz za dziwne(przyjemne) uczucie pojawilo sie, kiedy wszystkie prace zawisly na scianie! Jestem wzruszona! Dodaje to nowych sil, checi, do zycia, do tworzenia i dzielenia sie! Nie chce na sile tworzyc cos kontrowersyjnego i dziwnego tylko dlatego, ze to moze sie lepiej "sprzedac". Natura wcale nie musi byc nudna ani tkliwa(tfu!). Moze byc tajemnicza i mozna sie nia niezle zabawic.
This week is feeling a lot like a cram week 😂😅 Seed orders, bee orders, woodframe research/shopping, plot planning, flower bed designing 🌱🤓 The best kind of cramming. We’re also working on projects in the workshop, designing a baby shower this weekend, and packing/planning for a sunny vacation next week. 🎉🏖 Creative juices flowing overtime and I’m not sure we have enough paper to get all our ideas down. We’re quickly realizing that spring is springing much quicker than we were prepared for, and it. is. glorious. Late nights and early mornings and full afternoons call for all the java I (meg) can get. Cheers! 🖤☕️🤤

Be as delicate as a flower. As strong as a mountain. .
If you get a chance to watch A Plastic Ocean on Netflix, do it!! Honestly, attempting to go plastic-free this month has been even harder than cutting out meat (and that has been crazy hard for me haha) but it has been so eye-opening and worth it. There have still been a few things we've bought that had some sort of plastic :/ so there's definitely a learning curve, but I feel so much better knowing I'm at least trying. Even if everyone just stopped using single use plastics -- straws, water bottles, and grocery bags, etc. it would make a profound difference!! I just can't bear to see my favorite thing in the world destroyed. 💚🌊#loveFL
