Super Food..As known now internationally ...are our humble millets..Food Snobs were not even aware of their existence..At the most Barnyard Millet/Samavat/Bhagar ,thats it.They knew about Quinoa,Couscous but not about Sorghum/Little Millet /Kodo millet ..Finger millet.But now these grains are getting famous.Indians do eat millets sinces ages.Especially rural India,where Wheat,Pulses are expensive so their daily diet consisted of millets.Had worked in interiors of Maharshtra ,mainly Adivasi Areas and i was amazed with their life which was in sync with ecosystem.They eat what they grew or cultivate and avilable.But choco block with nutrition.Had adapted many recipes throughout my stint.
Todays mix millet khichdi is one of it.Millets used here are Kodo Millet Sorghum Pearl Millet and Barnyard Millet.And some moong daal.For more protein.Tempered in onion garlic and some dry spices...this khichdi is complete meal itself.You can use vegetables to make it more wholesome.Top it with ghee..Some salad and there you go...Done with Dinner.Healthy Way..

Some people complain about not getting a firm dough of plain Jowar & some say the chapati gets very dry .
Firstly the dough needs enough water, try to make the dough with a spoon of ghee and hot water and let it rest for a while. Take a dough ball and flatten it on a greased plastic base by using your hand, use a little water if it tends to break on the sides .
If this method looks too technical 😂 try mixing Jau and Jowar i.e. Barley flour and Sorghum flour, a tsp or two of ghee and hot water. You may also add coriander & onions! This dough shall come out firm and can easily be made into a chapati with a rolling pin. .

We tasted, smelled and played with many beautiful and aromatic Fynbos plants but settled on Renosterbos (Elytropappus rhinocerotis) infused west coast sea salt, which adds a very subtle thyme-like character to the beer along with a sea-breeze-like finish.

Doing the sorghum deal! Encountered some really tangled and jungle-like stuff in both Kinsley and Iola, KS which made for some tough going. Both the Orbis and Pick-Up heads plugged up on occasion due to the thin stems and entangled masses of crop in the windrows. Some frustrating cutting for the chopper operators, but I’m glad I had the opportunity to experience the variety of it all.
